[edit] KOTOR

I think most of that gunk in the BTS section can be cut out. In KOTOR it is revealed that they are descendants of the Kumumgah, like the Sandpeople. Lonnyd 22:44, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image needed, other stuff

It should be pointed out though, that not all Jawas are short. Some are quite tall, approaching that of the average human (see Star Wars where we see a Jawa less than a head shorter than Luke Skywalker). This is out of universe and doesn't belong in the article proper. A screen capture would be a better way of illustrating this point. I don't recall seeing this but I'll take a look later and see if I can spot it. Also, this article makes no mention of bartering patterns and their relationship with moisture farmers. Also, the speciest attitude of the Empire and humans in general is not covered. I can't do it at the moment but if no one else gets to it in the next few days I will.--DannyBoy7783 04:31, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

-- In the original trilogy visual dictionary-- In the original trilogy visual dictionary, there is a picture next to the "databank box" of a stone that looks like a face, ive always belived this to be what jawas look like under their cloaks... could i be right? [edit] ...Tinyliljawa?

This line is in the first paragraph of this article:

"A third tribe of Jawas, was an army led by Tinyliljawa"

I don't know quite enough to be totally confident editing it out, but it looks like a random add-in from someone. Especially since running a search for 'tiny lil jawa' or 'tinyliljawa' brings up a lot of hits for a user in Star Wars communities and such. Is it safe to assume this was added in by either them or someone who knows them or something and not as an actual part of Star Wars canon? - Adrianna

[edit] Jawas force-sensitive?

Is it possible for a Jawa to be a jedi/sith? I'm not completely sure if they can or not...Pizza the Hutt 19:39, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

  • To the best of my knowledge, there's no canonical evidence of a Jaw (or their distant cousins, the Tusken Raiders) becoming a Jedi or Sith. But there's nothing in canon to imply that they can't, either. So they probably can, it just hasn't been shown yet. Maclimes Zero (talk) 19:45, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Hmm... Well, how would a Jedi Master find a force-sensitive Jawa on Tatooine... That is, of course, if it is possible...Pizza the Hutt 20:06, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Sharred Hett, a Tusken, became a Jedi, and so did his son, A'Sharrad.--File:Darth Tyler.JPGDarth Tyler(talk) 20:12, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
    • No, Sharrad and A'Sharrad were both humans who simply lived with the Tuskens. Maclimes Zero (talk) 20:16, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
      • I'd say it's more than likely that a Jawa could be force-sensitve. Nearly any species can be.--Lord OblivionSith holocron 21:20, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
        • I would like to refer to you the information on the Deja page. "Deja's game stats reveal he had the Jedi ability of Farseeing, indicating he was Force-sensitive." As well as this perfectly canon proof, we also have the fact that he is in the 'Force Sensitives' catagory. Unsigned comment by 80.176.230.186 (talk • contribs).
        • There is a mod for Star Wars: Battlefront II which has Sith Jawas. This is non-canon, but was very interesting. Unsigned comment by 74.245.90.197 (talk • contribs).

The jawas had shawman which to get that type of respect they would have to over come sickness and have a vision after words this could very well be a sign of force sensitiveity.User:ivel

I would admit that Jawas, Sandpeople, or most other races could be force sensitive. But I find it unlikely that they could actually be a Jedi or Sith.Darth Marik87File:Clone Shock Trooper 04.jpg 16:48, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

NOTE: Found a possible suspect of a Jawa Jedi: http://www.swagonline.net/node/4432

Don't know if this is true, but it might help. 68.38.12.218 17:47, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Source?

In Behind the Scenes: In Attack of the Clones, Obi-Wan orders a cup of "Jawa Juice" at a Coruscant diner. There is a long-running internet joke (popular on Star Wars fan forums) that it is made only from "freshly squeezed Jawas."

I thought he was saying "Java Juice", referring to, basically, coffee. Especially since the waitress asked if he wanted a "cup of joe". I don't have the novelization or script, so I'd appreciate someone verifying this. Maclimes Zero (talk) 19:50, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Actually, the dialogue is as follows:
WA-7 droid: "You want a cup of jawa juice?"
Obi-Wan Kenobi: "Oh yes, thank you."
―In Dex's Diner from Attack of the Clones
So it was the waitress droid that identified the drink as jawa juice. - JMAS 20:03, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Gasp! My memory has failed me. I must watch it again to atone for my sins. Thanks, JMAS. Maclimes Zero (talk) 20:17, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
      • And don't forget, you must also do 10 "hail Padme's" as well, my child. ;) LOL - JMAS 20:35, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

I just watched ep. II on HBO and it sounded like Java Juice to me... 66.167.145.218 09:01, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Freak Giant Jawas"

There are no fewer than three of the tall Jawas present in ANH during Owen purchase of R2 & 3PO. Can someone upload a pic? Unsigned comment by Inigo Montoya (talk • contribs).

I know they look so weird ill try aand find one Unsigned comment by Ryal (talk • contribs).

[edit] Glowing Eyes

What biological function would cause their eyes to glow? Is it a sort of bioluminescence? Unsigned comment by Inigo Montoya (talk • contribs).

Lightbulbs. I have no idea, but there are types of insects and jelly fish in real life that glow. 129.107.81.12 06:50, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
According to the NEGTAS, it is Durindfire gems that are glowing. Valnatix 19:52, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
  • As I've read in a few sources they mention gemstones being embedded in the fabric of their hoods to protect their eyes. So you'd have to think that the gemstones cover their eyes, and are either naturally illuminated, or it's from their eyes. Might have to add something in.--Axims 00:25, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Lifespand

What is the maximum lifespand of a jawa?Pikazilla 11:50, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Scrollbox

About a week ago or so, I fixed the scrollbox on this page so that it wouldn't stick out of the page so that you had to scroll the page vertically. But now it's back to that again. Why did someone change it back? It was way better before when you didn't need to scroll it vertically, so should I change it back again or is someone going to erase it again? Zhar Lestin 21:35, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Traveling Jawas

So... apparently Jawas can also be found on the forest moon of Endor, as well as Raxus Prime. The latter actually makes some sense (though I have no idea how they got there), but the first doesn't make any whatsoever. 129.107.81.12 06:52, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ootini

Does anyone know the correct spelling of Ootini, ooteenee, ... or how ever it is?--72.181.6.95 05:56, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Rodent Jawas?

The article says that Jawas are just a humanoid species, but according to Tales from Jabba's Palace - A Boy and His Monster: The Rancor Keeper's Tale, it labels Jawas as being a rodent species. This is confirmed in The New Essential Guide of Alien Species. I won't change it until someone either confirms this or decides to change it themselves.--24.6.105.116 01:19, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Second paragraph of Bio/Appearance mentions how they are rodent-like creatures, and I referenced it from Essential Guide to Alien Species and i think the SW Encyclopedia. Seems like the proper change to me.--Axims 12:03, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Fusion cutters/Tusken raiders

Should there be added the use of fusion cutters, by Jawas? Its a pretty iconic symbol of this species.

Also, there should be more info on relations between Tuskens and Jawas, such as any historic battles between these two races....
