Holographic Records Room[]

I was making something, (I can't remember what) and I went on here. I needed to label the records room. I had no idea, so I contacted my good friend, who is a Star Wars geek. I asked him, and he said he believed that it was the "Holographic Records Room." I searched that on here, and I saw nothing. Then I looked at the jedi temple, still nothing. Is this right? Charles Park 22:59, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Charles Park

  • Check out the Jedi beacon page. Its located in the Comm Center. I am only guessing this is what you are looking for. Purpilia 02:01, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Council chamber location[]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost certain that several camera shots in ROTS heavily imply that the Council chamber is in the centre tower. Is this right? --Fade 17:43, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

  • It isn't, AOTC and TPM, and ROTS all show it in one of the ancillary towers. The interior of the central tower has not been seen, to my knowledge.--Eion 18:49, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Hm, looking over a script, I'm pretty sure it showed the shot of the central tower before the scene with Mace and Anakin talking to some hologrammatic Jedi masters before Cody appears to say Obi-Wan has made contact with Greivous. Never mind what I said before, then. --Fade 18:54, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
      • Yes, the establishing shot makes it very clear that it's the center tower. After Cody interrupts with his report, Mace mentions that the Jedi Council may need to take over the Senate. - Austicke 19:13, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
        • That's in the Jedi war room, located in the central tower. That is, I think, the only time we've seen the interior of that spire - Kwenn

Hi, I agree with Austicke, Eion and Kwenn. The upper levels of the inside of the Temple Spire or central tower is seen for the first time in ROTS with the War Room. A piece of Ryan Church's concept art showing the Temple Spire war room can be seen in "The Making of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith" on page 179. Near the base of the central spire is, I think the site of flight deck for Jedi Starfighters/ Gunships. From "Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones," p.12, the distinctive circular protuberances can be seen to house the Jedi Starfighters. One wonders were one would find a place to undertake meditation with the bustle of a war room and starfighters taking off under your feet....(See "Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I", p.37 and I am a Jedi Apprentice," p.3 on the meditative aspects of the central Temple Spire.)--JohnSWW 03:27, 12 Aug 2005 (UTC)

According to the Power of the Jedi sourcebook, the Jedi Council Spire is the southwestern tower.

Dark Nest info[]

Like the rest of Coruscant the temple will lay in ruin for several years. No attempt has been made by the New Republic to re-construct the temple as the Jedi Order has it's base of operations on Yavin IV after the fall of the Empire. It will forever remain a symbol of the oppression of the dark side and a memorial to the Jedi of old..

I'm sure that's incorrect, as the Dark Nest speaks of a temple on Coruscant. Can someone familiar with the post-NJO books please fix this? QuentinGeorge 06:29, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)

  • Technically, the New Republic doesn't rebuild the Temple; a new version is constructed atop the ruins of the old Temple by the Galactic Alliance, following the Yuuzhan Vong war. In Dark Nest, it's known simply as the 'Jedi Temple' - Kwenn

Technically, the New Republic doesn't rebuild or recreate anything after the war. It's the Galactic Alliance. Will (talk -- contribs) 05:09, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Incredible Locations: Revenge of the Sith[]

  • This work seems to have a lot of new info on the history of the Temple. Anyone have it and want to add it to the article? QuentinGeorge 09:30, 21 Oct 2005 (UTC)

New Category?[]

  • Could we have a separate category for the locations found within the Jedi Temple? There seem to be a lot of different chambers and rooms, and the Coruscant locations cat is already very full - Kwenn

First appearance[]

Isn't its first appearance TPM? I thought it wasn't included in ROTJ until the DVD version, not the special edition. Kuralyov 06:11, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Why does the Jedi Temple still exist in special edition ROTJ?[]

You would think that Palpatine, a devoted Sith, would order the Jedi Temple torn down, but nope, he kept the building standing and it is STILL POWERED AND LIGHTED!!! in 4 A.B.Y. My, my, Lucasfilm tries to be so correct in their special special edition that they have things that don't make sense, besides, the Temple was blasted to hell by clone troopers, and I doubt Palpatine would ever be willing to repair it.

  • It is more of a triumph for Sidious over the Jedi if he converts their temple for his own use. QuentinGeorge 22:27, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
    • The Sith using the Jedi Temple...the place Sith like Darth Vader would consider a "place of evil". Palpatine would probably leave the ruins there as a reminder of the "scourge of the Jedi", I assume the only reason it would be powered was if it served the purpose as a museum to portray anti-Jedi propaganda, just as Germany still has the Nuremberg Nazi stadium still standing to remind people of the true evil of the Nazi regime.
  • In at least one comic (SW:Infinites), the temple was used as an Imperial Palace as late as the Battle of Yavin, so it is conceivable that it was used in the normal storyline for a similar purpose. What better demonstration of the supplanting of the Sith for the Jedi’s as “protectors of the Galaxy” than by occupying their temple.--Eion 02:19, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Legacy Era Temple[]

Should we make a new article specifically for the Ossan Temple that appears in the Legacy Comics? It's rather different, in history, architecture, and place, so I would say it is a good idea. Also, is the temple we see in the Legacy Comics (Pyramid with platforms on top) the same one that Luke already has in DN? --Sauron18 13:20 07 June 2006

  • Does Legacy provide a specific name for this Temple? - Kwenn 18:25, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Well, I haven't really bought the comic (yet), but we know it exists, though someone who has it may know a name. --Sauron18 13:28 07 June 2006
  • The pyramid shaped Jedi Temple that the Jedi Order have in Dark Nest is on Coruscant. The actual buildings of the Jedi Academy on Ossus during the Dark Nest Trilogy aren't described very much only the training grounds and outside courtyards and paths so I suspect that this temple as seen in Legacy 0 might have been present on Ossus in DN but perhaps in a slightly earlier form or was built during the 100 years between LotF and the Legacy comics. Elephanto 18:32, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
  • I was guessing it was more or less like what they did with the Old Jedi temple. Just kept adding more and more.--Sauron18 13:28 07 June 2006
  • Well, if we do make this page, here is a pic from the preview, until someone can get a better scan..--Sauron18 14:03 07 June 2006
LegacyJedi
  • The thing is there is a page already for the Jedi Academy on Ossus called Jedi Praxeum (Ossus), now I know this building is called a Jedi Temple but I think its reasonable to think that it is just that the Jedi facility on Ossus that was called an "academy" in Dark Nest is now known as a Jedi Temple. Elephanto 19:10, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
  • I could simply add the image on that article. I mean, Temple and Praxeum, it's really the same thing. If I remember the one in coruscant was more for show than anything, while the Jedi were actually trained in Ossus. So, should I put the image in the Praxeum Article?--Sauron18 14:03 07 June 2006
  • That sounds okay to me I mean the Jedi Academy on Ossus is referred to as a temple and a praxeum in the Jedi Praxeum (Ossus) article when its only ever called the Jedi academy in the DN books. I think the terms Academy, Praxeum and Temple are relativley interchangeable in this case. If no one else has any problem with it you could go and add it to the establsihed page. Episode 1 Temple[]

Is it just me or is the temple in Episode 1 not have the elevated area beneath the spires like in episode 2 and 3?

No, it's not you I never paid attention to that part, but it is incorrect.BobafettH23 19:12, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Actually after watching the movie Iam not sure as of right now I have no oponion on the subject.BobafettH23 21:56, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

    • no, the episode I shot is closer so you cant see its elevation, they are the same you can see that clearly if you look hard enough i.e. the slope starting in the epI shot. Jedi Dude 22:41, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Jedi Dude!BobafettH23 23:30, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

    • I see it now too, thanks! 71.65.80.48 16:48, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Any mentions of the Force Well prior to the end of Episode III?[]

I figure the Jedi leadership of the time would have known about it. At least Yoda and Windu. Will 03:34, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

And which came first-Traitor or the story of Lord Nyax? If Traitor came first then perhaps the "Vergere fed Jacen more lies" thing should be removed since we don't know if Lord Nyax actually caused the darkside nexus and any attempt to say that is really a retcon made in light of the controversy of Vergere.

    • No it was definitely Nyax that permeated the nexus with hatred. They didnt mention it in any other works that I have seen. Purpilia 01:49, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

How many temples are there?[]

Ever since reading the Dark Nest trilogy and the Legacy of the Force books, I'm beginning to wonder how many Temples are there on Coruscant? First there's the Old Republic temple, then the new one donated by the Galactic Alliance and then the bizarre pyramidal one from the Legacy comics!DarthMaul431 02:30, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

3JediTemples
  • I've been wanting to start a new article on the various Jedi Temples appearing on various worlds. There's already a separate article for the one on Taris, but my understanding is Jedi temples and enclaves were all over the place. I've even got the picture I want to use (see right), showing various stages of Jedi temples, from small outposts to more sophisticated towers for the Core Worlds. Galactic Battlegrounds shows Jedi temples everywhere from Hanoon to Cloud City. My only problem is, I don't know what to call the article. My tentative name would be 'Jedi temple outpost,' to make it clear that the Temple on Coruscant is the headquarters. Enochf 21:53, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Did the NJO temple replicate the original?[]

Just wondering if the new template donated by the GA was built in the same spot as the pre-empire structure and if that new temple reproduced the old design. Will (talk -- contribs) 09:27, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Any imagery of the "Hall of a Thousand Fountains?"[]

Some books refer to a "Hall of a Thousand Fountains" that existed in the pre-Empire temple and in the Dark Nest/Legacy-era temple (as a recreation). Does anyone have an image of this hall? Will (talk -- contribs) 05:06, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Size[]

Was it only 260 metres, just asking.Derek Yoda's friend 22:06, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Why would they rebuild it there[]

If the nexus had become a dark side nexus why would they build it on top of it? Would they of turned it back to the light side somehow before they built there Unsigned comment by 172.142.247.246 (talk • contribs).

Temple Plans[]

Ok, with the jedi temple on coruscant being such a big deal and such a big thing to everything, plots and everything. And just an awesome base of the jedi, don't you think we could get some detailed blueprints amd layout for the jedi temple? like we've read all the books, but a blueprint of where everything is would be nice. Just to know exactly where everything happens. And some archetechture would be nice, pic. of the inside of the temple besides what's in the movies....

the four other spires of the temple![]

In the artical it says "The four surrounding towers were built in 1,000 BBY and each contained a single Jedi Council." and yet in the most recent Star Wars: The Old Republic revelation (ie the cinimatic trailer) we see the jedi temple with all five spires which is in circa 3,623 BBY so... Alexsau1991 08:03, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

  • The creative team of TOR failed to do research and/or are lazy. QuentinGeorge 09:27, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
    • With my hyper-obsession with the Jedi Temple, I have rationalized that the date in the article notes the rebuilding of the spires. Of course this is purely my way of amending their error, so I dont know if we want to remove it from the article or leave it until we get information regarding the Temple's inevitable rebuilding. Conflicting canon within FFG[]

With the publication of Nexus of Power the Jedi Temple's conversion into the Imperial Palace is not introduced in this ambiguously canon source. I understand that Wookieepedia's policy is to treat all FFG publications as Legends until official stated as canon. But how should we approach this with updates from NoP? There is new information aside from the Imperial Palace mention, but it seems to me that by only including that we would be picking an choosing what to add. Should this information be added to the BtS section, or placed under a header stating its ambiguity?Purpilia (talk) 18:25, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

  • One thing is sure, we definitely should do something. But the situation is so difficult to understand that we don't know what to do. If the FFG sourcebooks are set in a universe where the Jedi Temple became the Imperial Palace, then it's not set in the Legends continuity (where the Emperor's palace already existed thousands of years before the Declaration of a New Order). Then again, as Brandon would say, the FFG books may not be meant to fit within either continuities. They just exist as a lore trove for the GMs. This situation is quite different from the way things were handled before. --LelalMekha (talk) 19:14, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
  • So for the time being, I suppose I will just update pre-Order 66 information...and maybe come up with something in BtS later? Though then again, now that I think about it, any retcons made even before Order 66 could be in question. Not pertaining to the Temple article, but especially some of the retconning done with the Great Jedi Library. While it straightens out some discrepancies in Legends, I don't know whether they still count as "official" retcons...Purpilia (talk) 20:16, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
