Had to know all lightsaber forms to a considerable degree?
Edit
- This is what the article says about Battlemasters. Curously, then, that the only two Battlemasters we know of, Katarn and Drallig, did not know all the forms. Katarn had his own style, and perhaps the Strong, Medium and Fast styles, while Drallig didn't know Form 7: Juyo.DarthMRN
Cin knew Form IIV. Nick Gillard specifically designed Form IIV move sets into his character into the episode III Game. Nick Gillard created the Forms and implemented them into all the characters as the chief designer, so it seems reasonably canon to me.
- Unless somebody can point to a source stating that the Battlemaster had to know all seven forms, as opposed to just being a kick-ass lightsaber fighter with broad scope of knowledge, I'm gonna remove that part.DarthMRN 18:26, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Does Anoon Bondara consider a battlemaster before Cin Drallig?
Edit
- In Anoon Bondara's information, it said he was a lightsaber instructor training Padawans and Younglings like Obi-Wan Kenobi. So just asking people out there, does Anoon Bondara be consider a Battlemaster? CrudeSword 16:20, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- I think it's a strong possibility that he was a battlemaster, however until it is stated in canon that he is I don't thinkwe should add it into the main section but maybe a mention in BTS might be in order. In Cin Drallig's artcile it says he became battlemaster in 32 BBY, which supports the theory. Grunny (Talk) 06:23, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Grunny for the info. CrudeSword 00:45, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Battle Master
Edit
The Tales of the Jedi Companion has a template for a Battle Master character. Really nothing much info wise on it, battle masters had a natural talent for combat and using the lightsaber in general. The templates quote looks like battle masters around the Great Sith War and just before were also tacticians as well as Jedi battlefield commanders. Guess what I'm wondering is if this should be seperate from this article or added to it. -anonymous 2/08/07
Yoda, Count Dooku, Mace Windu and Obi Wan?
Edit
Yoda is the master of Ataro, Obi Wan is the master of Soresu, Mace Windu is the creator of Vaapad and Dooku is the master of Makashi, but how come none of them granted the title battlemaster?Jasonfu 02:27, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- Being a master of a particular form doesn't make one a Battlemaster. Anakin was a master of Djem So, and Kit Fisto was a master of Form I, but they weren't battlemasters. Battlemasters have to be experts in ALL forms, not just on in particular, because they train everyone in lightsaber dueling. If the only style they knew was inappropriate for the one wanting to learn, it'd cause big problems. EX: A Djem So master tried to train a species like Yoda - just wouldn't work. Above all, there is only one Jedi Battlemaster, so they all couldn't be Jedi battlemasters. That's like having several Jedi Grand Masters ;) Xepeyon 13:58, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
Yoda a Battlemaster?!
Edit
I don't know the dates but it is reasonable to assume that Yoda was a Battlemaster too. The reason for this claim resides in page 404 of my Revenge of the Sith copy:
Obi-Wan (about Cin Drallig): "He was my lightsaber instructor..." Yoda: "And his, was I,"
Kavar
Edit
I always believed that Kavar was the battlemaster. Lots of evidence suggests it.
Raskta Lsu
Edit
Raskta Lsu fits the criteria even more than Cin Drallig, yet isn't listed. Te-Voro 15:12, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
