Talk:Jek Tono Porkins
From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.
Did Porkins' X-Wing really collide with the Death Star due to an altitude misjudgement? Watching the movie again it appears that his ships is simply blown apart by turbolaser fire and if his ship did collide with the Death Star then it had nothing to do with misjudging the altitude. HuronKing
- I don't know how old this is, but I'm replying. In X-wing: Rogue Squadron, Wedge mentions how Jek always had his compensator on full. Wedge noted that if he hadn't, Jek would have noticed he was still headed towards the Death Star, he could have done something to save himself. Also, as was the case with Luke being hit, Jek could have been hit by blaster fire but still have flown. Many people in the Star Wars saga have been (look at Obi-wan in Ep. III). - Where has his second name been confirmed? --Sompeetalay 16:43, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Marvel Star Wars 6: Is This the Final Chapter? gave him the name "Tono Porkins" with "Piggy" as his nickname. But it has never been said that Tono was actually his second name. Borsk Fey'lya 19:47, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Until we have a source that it is actually a middle name, I'm gonna move it. -- Ozzel 22:03, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, here it is: [1], and I'm dissapointed that a small-timer like me is the first one adressing this. I'm not up to date on the current naming policy, but doesn't this qualify him for a move to Jek Tono Porkins? At the very least, the article should be updated. DarthMRN 19:55, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Good find. I don't think this article has to be moved this article to include his middle name. I can only think of women with maiden names as having 3 names in the article title. -Fnlayson 23:39, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- According to an information booklet I had with the Hasbro Figure, Jek is 1.78 metres. Are these info cards considered a true source? Other info states "Once a free trader on Bestine IV, Jek joined the rebel Alliance after homeworld was conquered by the Empire. He quickly became known as one of the Alliance's most skilled pilots. When he attacked the Death Star during the Battle of Yavin, his comm-unit designation was Red Six. His droid R5-D8 first flew with Jek in Tierfon Yellow Squadron."--Markemerson 10:17, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
