Battle
Edit
I'd like to put together a page for the battle where the Katana fleet was discovered and claimed. We don't know where it occured...so would a good title be Battle for the Katana fleet?
- It's a major turning point in the Thrawn campaign, and we don't know where it was, so i'd say that would do. -- SFH 05:42, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- "Battle for the Dark Force" would also be a good (and appropriately creepy) redirect. :) Thanos6 05:44, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- It's referred to as the Battle for the Katana fleet in The Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook. jSarek 06:53, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I thought there was already a page for it. Admiral J. Nebulax 20:38, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
The battle for the Katana Fleet took place in the middle of deep space, the void between stars
- Yes, but "Battle in the Middle of Deep Space, the Void Between Stars" isn't the best of titles - Kwenn 18:36, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Ship Count
Edit
- Wondering about the count on the ships acquired by each side. Does the 8 the new republic got include the 6 that Garm Bel Iblis's group had already bought? -Finlayson 18:16, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- There were 15 Katana Dreadnaughts were left to recover after the Battle for the Katana fleet, plus one that was destroyed in the battle. Add to that the 6 in Bel Iblis's fleet, and you account for the 22 that Thrawn didn't get. Thus, assuming that (as is likely, but not explicitly stated in canon) all 15 were repaired and put into service, the Republic got 21 Katana Dreadnaughts and Thrawn got 178. Red XIV 05:09, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Actually, Karrde says there are 15 Dreadnaughts before the Imperial reenforcements arrive. Then one is destroyed when it rammed the Peremptory. So that leaves 14 for the Republic. With Bel Ilbis's 6 that leaves 20 for the Republic which means Thrawn got 179. I think this should be changed on the main page.
Heir to the Empire
Edit
It was mentioned by Han Solo in this book.
- Right, just added that. -Finlayson 18:00, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
Aftermath?
Edit
Anyone know what became of the fleet after Heir to the Empire? That many ships -not to mention the clones crewing them had to go somewhere.Tocneppil 18:59, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Unfinished?
Edit
Is it me or is this article totally not finished? There's plenty of appearances listed for the fleet after The Last Command but no history or information on them. Mike Zimbouski 21:44, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
question
Edit
why does it say there is conflicting canonical sources? Outbound flight does not even mention the katana fleet? - Izquierdista 08:28, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- Read the Behind the scenes section. The problem is with when the Katana fleet actually was created and lost. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 20:29, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Garm's Dreadnoughts
Edit
When did Garm Bel Iblis buy his six Dreadnoughts? It was before or after the Battle of Endor?
Unidentified ship discovering Katana Fleet
Edit
In Dark Force Rising (comics) in the flashback part, where Talon Karrde explains Mara Jade, how he discovered famous Katana Fleet there is a small smuggler ship he was aboard chased by 2 Carrack-class light cruisers. Anybody knows what is the type or class of that small ship? It would be nice to include that info to this article and others as well. Thank you.--Jedi Marty 14:28, October 28, 2009 (UTC)
Alternate explanation
Edit
What if the the information about Outbound Flight was somehow uploaded to the computer archives (via Holonet, maybe?), after the Fleet was lost but some of the automated systems were still active? Dangerdan97 21:46, February 12, 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. The holonet is nearly omnipresent in the galaxy. An automated update is plausible. The Outbound flight info certainly shouldn't supersede the info a military general states about a well known military loss. I am going to reword the BTS to treat both sources equally until a official resolution becomes present. IthinkIwannaLeiaWaddaUthink? 22:59, January 13, 2012 (UTC)
