[edit] Future

Shouldn't some information about Ken's future be added? 62.74.5.202 19:49, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

    • You mean the future he doesn't have?? Ewor Nimajneb 03:38, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name

Should this be at Ken (ugh) Palpatine? QuentinGeorge 23:48, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • It hurts to say that doesn't it? Shadowtrooper talk 23:52, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • Not necessarily. It's never explicitly stated that "Palpatine" is the Emperor's last name. It may be his only name. Few characters in Eps. I-III refer to Anakin as "Skywalker" or Obi-Wan as "Kenobi", but everyone calls the Senator-cum-Chancellor "Palpatine". Do the books name him at any point as "Ken Palpatine"? --SparqMan 04:33, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
No, he is only referred to as "Ken." Also, Palpatine may be a "name of state," like Amidala, rather than a family name.
  • The articles state that his relationship to Palpatine is not ultimately certain, so we will then only name him by what he goes by. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:50, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • Additionally, even if Palpatine *is* the Emperor's surname, and he is actually Ken's grandfather, there's no reason to think that Palpatine's *illegitimate* son would share the name to pass on to his son. jSarek 16:24, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)
  • I haven't read the books since probably about 10 years ago, but from what I remember there wasn't much known about who the Emperor's son was (or even the existence of a son), so it would only stand to reason that no one knew who that person's son was. I also don't think that Ken even knew anything about him being the Emperor's grandson (I'll have to re-read the books), so it would make sense that he wouldn't be named Palpatine. If Obi-Wan was responsible for the concealment of the Lost City of the Jedi (as it seems to suggest), then it would make sense that he had kept the true identity of Ken a secret.

[edit] Kenth Hamner

Is this speculation just a guess by fans, or is there more to it than that? — Silly Dan 02:45, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)

  • So far, just speculation, but Abel G. Pena seemed interested in this as a potential retcon, so keep your eyes peeled for the possibility it will become official down the line. jSarek 16:24, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, but remember- Ken is younger (much younger) than Luke. Hamner is older. No gettin' around that.

[edit] Eye color?

His eye color is listed as blue here. In The Essential Guide to Characters, it's listed as Gray.-LtNOWIS 09:43, 17 Aug 2005 (UTC)

  • Well, since there are no sources cited for this article as yet, i would say go ahead and change it to gray. If anyone can find another source that says otherwise, then we can discuss it again when that time comes. --Azizlight 09:48, 17 Aug 2005 (UTC)
    • "Gray" is just another name for "light blue" anyway, but go ahead and change it. QuentinGeorge 10:26, 17 Aug 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Picture

I changed the old main picture back, mainly because the one from the EGTC stretches the page unnecessarily, and that doesn't look very pretty with 1024x768 resolution (not to mention lower screen resolutions). The "frames" around the infobox pic aren't very pretty either, but I'll post an request for a higher res version of the same picture. --Tinwe 16:11, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mary Sue

Recently, an anon removed without any apparent reason or explanation, the points why Ken is disliked, and that classify him a Gary Stue. This oldvaersion can be found here. Should it be restored? MoffRebus 22:06, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

  • I think the point was that it violates the No Original Research policy and would be hard to cite. Cull Tremayne 22:11, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Does NOR applies to BtS section? MoffRebus
      • Particularly there, since anyone can put in a fan interpretation which might appear officially licensed. Cull Tremayne 22:19, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
