[edit] History
This article should have a history section. Does anyone know why KDY sided with the Republic during the Clone Wars, and provide a source? I've read that the Trade Federation had some of their top executives assassinated, but I'm not sure. JimRaynor55 20:14, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- I believe that it actually remained neutral, along with many other corporations. I'll have to check for a source, though. Admiral J. Nebulax 00:46, 16 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- I'd like to see some insight into how they built the thing. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:52, 16 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- What thing? Admiral J. Nebulax 13:11, 16 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- The yards of course. -- Riffsyphon1024 03:45, 18 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Oh. Admiral J. Nebulax 12:52, 18 Dec 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Galleons
Is the Galleon in this list the same class of ship as the Star Galleon-class frigate? — Silly Dan 13:19, 16 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Probably. Admiral J. Nebulax 13:21, 16 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Rebellion shows both a "Galleon" and the "Star Galleon" as being two different ships. --AdmiralWesJanson 00:23, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Empire at War tidbit
Their newest update on Lucasarts show an animation of Kuat. It has an artificial ring around it. Just thought that was a nice addition to the ship yards we already know about. (I believe they were drydocks scattered around the system?) VT-16 12:25, 24 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Hmm, interesting. I suppose that "ring" was all the shipyards, right? Admiral J. Nebulax 12:56, 24 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- There's most likely more, further out in the system. That ring seemed like something made for the game, and would most likely just supplant earlier yards. VT-16 15:28, 24 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- That's true. Admiral J. Nebulax 15:52, 24 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Ah. I hoped for something like that. Does anyone have a screenshot? -- Riffsyphon1024 01:36, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- The shipyards in the ring are actually from Coruscant and the Core Worlds: "The most prominent planetary feature is the colossal Kuat Drive Yards (also known as KDY). This series of shipyards and construction facilities encircles the planet like a large metal ring and employs billions of beings" (page 104); there's more on page 106, including a plan which shows the three actual shipyard sections, "Maw Shipyards", "Andrim Shipyards" (House Andrim is a major Kuati house), and "Deponn Shipyards", and four anonymous dry docks... between them, I doubt they comprise 1/3 of the ring - the rest is infrastructure, warehouses, machine shops, spaceport, security HQ and things like that --McEwok 02:00, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- Yep, I found that they were indeed mentioned somewhere else already. Conceeded. :P VT-16 12:20, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] KDY Orbital Array
Related to the above entry. Should the KDY Orbital Array around Kuat be integrated into this article or should it have its own? I have uploaded the image from Coruscant and the Core Worlds but an not sure where to place it? - Volemlock, 14 May 2006
- I think the image should be in here, but I don't know where to put it. Hmm...-- SFH 18:16, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- It would fit in this article around the description of the yards, but we might need to expand on the text there. -- Riffsyphon1024 20:34, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- Would it be appropriate to have a "KDY Orbital Array" title in this article?. Links to the main aspects listed in this diagram could then be added. What do people think? -- Volemlock, 14 May 2006
- Good idea. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:17, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Revamp
OK, I'm going to take a pass at this, touch up the early history of Kuat a bit. I think I'll do it in two passes, one with just the information, and the second to add links. I don't have Platt's Starport guide, so once i get a rough traffic control section up, could someone with that book fix it up if there is antthing wrong? There is likely to be some overlap between the Kuat and the KDY article, history wise, but that is to be expected. --AdmiralWesJanson 06:19, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- Since this is going on the Improvement Drive this week, I swapped out the tag at the top of the page. It would be good if we could remove the {{inuse}} tag since we are now encouraging everyone to edit it, but I'll leave that to you, AdmiralWesJanson. -- Ozzel 03:56, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'm going to have my piece up tonight, then I'll take that tag down. I think I've got a pretty complete article, just a few gaps here and there from a lack of certain sources. --AdmiralWesJanson 02:45, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- OK, revamp done, {{inuse}} tag down. I'm rather pleased with it, though it may need a check for spelling/grammar. There's also a big white space at the top thanks to the index, if anyone has ideas how to get rid of that or reduce it, go for it. There are quite a few pictures, but nearly all of them are either necessary, or very useful to have where they are. Oh, and people are right. "Kuat of Kuat" does get annoying after a while. --AdmiralWesJanson 13:12, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] History section
- Oh crap. The entire history section completely copied out of The New Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels. I'll go change it. -- SFH 04:47, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- No need. I'm working on a complete rewrite. --AdmiralWesJanson 06:52, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ravager and Staraker?
Source for Ravager and Staraker being KDY ships? VT-16 20:01, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- No clue. I took them off of my edit. If someone can back it, I'll put them back on the list. --AdmiralWesJanson 13:12, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Legend of zelda
I know it's kind of unimportant, but should it be noted that the Kuat drive yards symbol looks like the Triforce in Nentindo's Legend of zelda series? —Unsigned comment by 24.62.14.253 (talk • contribs).
- Yeah I noticed that too. Lowbacca5 03:35, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hahaha, it's the Triforce lalala_la
[edit] Kuat family's power
does the Kuat family still have as much power as they did pre-endor cause at the end of the Kuat Of Kuat paragraph it says Kateel of Kuhlvult took over and also can't they just over throw her with the Inheritance Exemption and regain control of the Yards? The Ten 02:49, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hard to say. Bounty Hunter Wars leaves a lot of loose ends for Kuat, but by all accounts, the Empire finally came in and nationalized them, or at least subdued them. Nothing really covers that period well. There's pretty much a big gap from Endor to Iron Fist with no real mention of what Kuat is doing, except one blurb from an Adventure Journal. There are also bits and pieces that may fit in from Coruscant and the Core Worlds, vut I added that in as much as I could. I ought to check the Adventure Journal tomorrow, though. --AdmiralWesJanson 07:23, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Executor
- Wasn't Executor built by Fondor? It says that on the Executor article and I remember reading it somewhere. If no one argues I'm changing it. Chack Jadson 12:47, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- I think it was built by KDY *at* Fondor. Not all KDY construction was done in the yards in Kuat orbit. Though I seem to recall some source saying that, after Executor, KDY made sure all future Super Star Destroyers had their imprint on the hull plating, implying the Executor *didn't* . . . but I can't recall where I read that. jSarek 21:11, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- As far as I know there are two companies who claim to have buildt the executor and both have... but one was renamed and hidded under couruscants surrface... this was mentionen in one of the x-wing novels as far as I remember right..- Adm.Darkfire

[edit] Picture
The main pic is showing up as a big black box to me. Lowbacca5 03:37, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, shows up fine for me. --OuroborosCobra 03:56, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Well when it has the stub about the company I can see it fine. Lowbacca5 12:46, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- What browser are you using? --OuroborosCobra 14:42, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Internet Explorer Lowbacca5 22:34, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Interesting. I primarily browse in Firefox, and it looks fine there. I just tried it in Internet Explorer, and it is a big black box. --OuroborosCobra 23:13, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- It's working perfectly fine in IE for me. -- I need a name (Complain here) 23:19, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well, when I use IE, I'm still using IE 6. You using 7? --OuroborosCobra 01:04, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Advertisement for the Imperial Star D.
Has anyone read the Aurebesh Text on the Picture? The last sentence show that the pic is definetly is non-canon: Take advantage of our current 'Buy one - get one free deal'
actually this would take a company like kdy out of buisness with something as expencive as a star destroyer. i can't imagine that this is cannon. any sources? ^^
- Why would that make it non-canon? You can probably find a great many hidden jokes in canon materials, especially in the movies... --OuroborosCobra 15:39, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Power...
It says that it was the largest shipbuilding corporation during the time of the Empire, but what about the Republic? After all, it manufuctured plenty of hardware for the Republic such as the Venator and whatnot. Unless there is a source that contradicts this, I feel that KDY was also very powerful during the Republic. Unit 8311 15:57, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Picture
The pictur isn't showing up. it's just black. is anyone ellse encountering this problme? - CorellianJedi
- Look up three discussions in the talk page. --OuroborosCobra 20:52, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Picture?
Could someone upload a new pic? the one currently in the infobox dosn't show up for IE users so it'd be nice to have one that was more IE friendly - CorellianJedi
- Works fine in IE for me. Maybe it's just you. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 20:03, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- no if you look a bit higher up you'll see some other users haveign problmes with it like Lowbacca something 74.244.187.222|CorellianJedi 21:47, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Are you still using IE6 as well, or have you upgraded to 7? —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 22:15, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know and i'm not too good with Upgrades -CorellianJedi
- Go to Help in the toolbar, then About. It will tell you your version number there. If you're still using 6, then that's the problem...it doesn't support full transparency in .png images. IE7 has since been upgraded so that it does support them, which is what we're using here. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 00:58, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- How exactly do i update? - CorellianJedi
- Go here. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 01:23, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- thanks - CorellianJedi
- it won't let me update. it says i don't have a ginuine advantige Key or somethign- CorellianJedi
- That means you don't have a legal copy of Windows. We do not support piracy here, and so I can only advise you to get a legal version. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 01:34, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- That's strange. thanks for the tip.
- Might also mean that WGA screwed up and is refusing to detect a legal version. I hear that happens with 1 out of 10 legal copies. --OuroborosCobra 02:49, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Or just get Firefox 2.0. -- Riffsyphon1024 03:08, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Redlinks...
Is the redlink template at the top really necessary? It's only got something like four or so redlinks, which is hardly 'excess'. Unit 8311 13:27, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Source?
Does anyone have a source for the Backdoor codes part under Security?
EDIT: Would these codes be applied to military vessels as well?
