Other appearances[]

This song has made other appearances in the SW universe, namely Empire at War, Battlefront II, among others. Do these appearances make it canon? Jorrel Fraajic Communications Relay 17:22, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I don't know about Empire at War, but it only appears in the Mos Eisley Assault level in BF2, which itself is non-canon - so that doesn't really count - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 17:34, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Well, in EaW, it's played (alternately with Jedi Rocks) at the Hutt Palaces as sort of a background track. When you zoom up closely, the music can be heard over the din. It's in the music files as Hutt_Palace_Lapti_Nek.mp3 or something of that sort. Jorrel Fraajic Communications Relay 18:27, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
      • If no one opposes, I'm going to remove the cut content tag due to the EaW appearance. ~~ Commander Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable Communications Relay ~~ 19:40, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
        • I Agree the Tag Should be Removed. Especially since the Limited Editions came out.GMo 02:27, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
          • Not to disagree, but it says this song was never released commercially. I have a cassette of the Return of the Jedi soundtrack. It's on there.123.212.250.202 16:32, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
            • It says the film version was never released commercially. The film version is different from the album version. -- Ozzel 21:36, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

new BTS info[]

I think in Behind the Scenes there should be this info I found in The making of the Saga.

It was called Fancy Man because it was originally about a fancy man. Te original English is here, which is non canon now. (Between lines are "oohs", "uhs," similar grunts and "Ows!" instead of "Wows!"

My body heat is risin'
My soul is sythesithin'
The lover man is comin'
So I'm shapin' up and workin' out

I feel my body pumpin' (best guess)
My whole frame is thumpin'
The (possibly "a") fancy man is comin'
I'm shapin' up and workin' out

And now people say (this line is right before the chorus, sometimes not included in the canon lyrics.)

Lapti nek (this was what they said instead of Work it out for some reason. See note at the previous line.)
You gotta work your body, gotta bring the heat
Lapti nek
You gotta bring the heat, you gotta walk the street
Lapti nek
You gotta walk the street, you gotta move your feet
I'm a-workin' out (English translation of Deg zorzee zot or at least use where it is in the Huttese lyrics)

These lyrics were retconned so that the new lyrics are the ones in this article already. The Huttese lyrics for Fancy Man aren't really applicable (as opposed to the ones for Work it Out) because they were improvised and Annie Arbogast probably couldn't even tell you what they were, although some of the lyrics made it into the canon version from the soundtrack. Canonicity[]

Shouldn't this be canon? I know it's not in the movies but it's on the Soundtrack, so... Unsigned comment by 69.62.160.40 (talk • contribs).

Everything from the original films still gets a Legends page regardless of whether or not it's canon. That's how the system works on here. However, if it qualifies, then it also gets a canon page, though I don't think this one qualifies. The films were declared canon, the soundtracks were not, and I don't believe this is in the editions of the films currently being released, which is the only ones we consider acceptable for canon purposes.
