I found no mention about the events in Timothy Zahn's Allegiance in the article. Any particular reason for that? Events of that book are mostly fresh in my mind but I have no time to try and do anything about it now since I'm working hard in Finnish Jedipedia with Leia's article and several other projects. Some help in this from you would be appreciated.--Dionne Jinn (Valita täällä) 13:29, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

When did Princess Leia Die? Unsigned comment by (talk • contribs).

Besides that short comic story where she dies in 0 ABY and is resurrected, her time of death is still unknown. Some point after 43 ABY.--Dionne Jinn Something to say?|My doings 20:12, October 13, 2009 (UTC)

Since when was she resurected? And i noticed a few things r incorrect. Lando did not die in the Empire Strikes back, Leia did not kill Darth vader and Darth vader did not kill Yoda. Lando escapes with leia after he betrays Han Solo for the Empire along with Leia to capture Luke, Darth Vader killed Obi-Wan, and Yoda died of Natural causes. Darth Vader also did not know he had a daughter until he searched Luke's mind (or did Luke tell him himself? i don't know about that one, it doesn't say in the movie) and after he finds out he tells Luke " Sister. Well if u do not join the dark side, perhaps ur sister will "--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 11:06, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

That's infinities what you saw. Noncanon.—B-Boba Fett! He'll kill us all! Jaster's Feather 12:05, November 6, 2009 (UTC)

This has nothing to do with this talk part but I can't figure out how to set up a new part. Shouldn't Leia's name be Leia Skywalker Organa Solo or something like that?---- #1Obi-WanKenobiFan

  • It would be kinda cool if she included the Skywalker in her name, yeah. However, she's never been called that in canon --- countless books, comics, sourcebooks, and more name her "Leia Organa Solo," which has been her established name since Heir to the Empire was published in 1991. Since it's her official name, we roll with it. Menkooroo (talk) 03:27, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Uh.. I don't know and u forgot ur sig. by the way we totally need to redo Truce @ Barkura becuz no one put that leia was basically afraid 2 b alone after she found out that Darth Vader was her father.--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 15:57, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

I would update the article but I haven't read Abyss yet even though I have it I have to wait until I finish this book I'm having to read for school. So could someone else who's already read it update it? Thanks. jedi_master425

hey guys! the insurrection @ Correlia needs editing, Leia got her red Lightsaber during this book (I may not own any yet, but reading out of order also works when ur school library doesn't have the full series of any of the books except the correllian trilogy), she got it becuz Mon Mothma suggested that Luke look in the mirror and see that he has political potential, so he constructed 2 say that 2 him, Leia was a jedi, and the best part is she beat him HAHA, GO LEIA!!!!!!!!!--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 12:05, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

Hey! anyone know exactly what that interrogation droid (i know it tortured her, she even says so in Truce @ Bakura), but it never explains how? Please leave the answer on my talk page thks!--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 17:04, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I finished reading Abyss awhile back but was still on suspension, so my memory on it may b fuzzy. Correct me. I'm also on Backlash right now so don't worry about it.--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 21:44, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

Article seems to go at some length to justify why she went straight to Yavin 4 even though she knew she was being tracked. Best explanation seems to me that Tarkin would destroy anywhere the Falcon went for harbor, proving his callousness in destroying Alderaan just as an 'effective demonstration". Leia knew this, and therefore she flew to the people who 1) would actually qualify as valid targets for the Death Star and 2) had the best chance of destroying it. In a way, she was hoping to lure the Dragon into a trap. Which is good, because, hey, she is a Princess.-- 14:13, October 5, 2012 (UTC)--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 14:08, Oct 05, 2012 (UTC)

I'm a little confused about her lightsaber. It seems to change color several times (as proven by the pictures on her page), from red to yellow to blue but the actual weapon appears to be the same one in all of the pictures. Would it be possible to have a section addressing this, like the one on the Jacen Solo page and most other Jedi, perhaps giving the timeline, giving more information, and what it is at present (as of abyss)? Thanks. MD

Leia's lightsaber was never red. I believe that that was Infinities. Anakin's lightsaber changed, too. And the bottom-most picture is the most recent. Not including the Infinities pictures.—B-Boba Fett! He'll kill us all! Jaster's Feather 12:02, November 6, 2009 (UTC)

Actually, it was confirmed in Ambush @ Correlia that Leia's Lightsaber was red, but it was a gift from her brother, she never built it, But i have a question about the Romances section, how does Jabba count?--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 12:03, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

I think The Essential Guide to Characters also states that Leia had a red lightsaber. But I no longer think that book to be a trustworthy source, really.--Dionne Jinn (Something to say?My doings) 09:05, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
After a quick read through of the Thrawn trilogy it does say she has a red lightsabre, and it also says Luke builds her one. Also, on the cover of one, she wields a red lightsabre. Although it might be ruby, if I'm mistaken... MD
Uh, she has a green lightsaber in the Thrawn trilogy, not red. Re-read TLC.--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 22:56, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
  • Well the impression I got from her through reading the books is that she's only had two lightsabers. the one Luke built her and the one she currently has. Is there anyway that one of the pics is an accidental mess up? color mistakes happen a lot. Unsigned comment by (talk • contribs).

If I recall correctly, Leia received the red lightsaber from Vima Da-Boda. SkyWolf 17:07, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Actually no,in Dark Empire she recieved either a blue or a green lightsaber from Vima. Couldn't tell whet color it was. The one that u could tell was the red one and only Luke had one.--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 21:42, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

  • It is stated in Balance Point that her lightsaber is Ruby-Red. It is taken from her by Nom Anor and destroyed by Tsavong Lah.VadersFist666 23:35, May 29, 2010 (UTC)
  • Not going to argue about this one because I know she had a red one. However, the Japanese cover of Star by Star shows her holding a red lightsaber again. How is that possible, as far as I've read, she's never built another red one?--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 22:56, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

In Dark Force Rising on page 361 (paper back) it states that her lightsaber is green. And if I'm not mistaken, which I might be that is the lightsaber that Luke built for her. But the one she now carries is blue according to the Legacy of the Force series. And the pictures from the dark nest crisis and onward show her with a blue lightsaber. jedi_master425 September 8, 2010

She started out with a green one made for her by Luke in the Thrawn Trilogy, but had a blue one in Planet of Twilight which she used to kill Beldorion. Luke gave her a ruby one in the Corellian Trilogy, which she used throughout the Yuuzhan Vong War. After she finished her training with Saba Sebatyne in the Dark Nest Trilogy, she built her own blue lightsaber, which she's used ever since. Unsigned comment by Craigoryhouse (talk • contribs).

Shouldn't 'Skywalker' be put into her surname as it is technically her maiden name? --P.O.K.E.R. 08:41, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

  • A good question, but she never actually adopted it as a surname. Even after Luke revealed her parentage to her on Endor, she went by "Leia Organa" until she married Han and became "Leia Organa Solo". It's a similar situation to Valin Horn ("Hal"), who was born Valin Halcyon, but went by Valin Horn all of his life. But it was definitely a legitimate question, and all credit to you for asking here on the talk page rather than just editing the article. Cheers! Menkooroo 08:58, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
  • As well I should think Skywalker should be added the authors never did, guess it was too much of a mouthful. My question is when did they stop saying it? Now all they say is Jedi Solo or Leia Solo.--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 23:23, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

Why Leia's born name is Leia Amidala Skywalker? Amidala was the throne name of her mother not a surmane 22:08, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

  • This has been discussed before, see here for example. But to make the long story short, Amidala is (or was) Leia's middle name, not a part of her surname. This was probably Padmé's way of honoring the name she assumed as a queen, though it's not stated explicitly anywhere (that I know of, ayway). The source for the "Leia Amidala Skywalker" name is the ROTS Visual Dictionary, but it only gives the name and no explanation as to why Leia was called that before her adoption. Wouldn't Allan kind of be Leia's informal apprentice since she's teaching her acrobatics and slightly helping her with the force? Unsigned comment by‎ (talk • contribs).

Actually that's a good point. We should also put her twins and Anakin as informal apprentices also becuz she did help them with their Force Powers b4 they went to the Academy. By the way, it's Allana.--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 21:36, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

I just read Allana's article, it says that Leia is her informal master. Changing Leia's appretnices.--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 22:18, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Death date removalEdit

First off, I know that this was referenced in the CUSWE. I'm not disputing that. The problem is that we have only done this for one other character who had a temporary death, Palpatine. And the only reason we did that is because of the "controversy" of Dark Empire. I am fine with including the information in the article. It is canon. But putting it in the infobox is just confusing for casual readers. Besides, this "death" is the same type of "death" that occurs when people's hearts temporarily stop. I'm not disputing that death occurred (ie the cessation of life functions), but the absence of finality here suggests that it should not be put in the death date infobox.

Besides just a logical argument, other characters with temporary deaths do not do this. Look at Bevel Lemelisk. Look at Set Harth. Look at 4-LOM. Look at Onaconda Farr (just kidding about that one). The fact is, the death section of the infobox is (in everyone but Palpatine's case) for "definitive" deaths, or at least as definite as we can determine. Cull Tremayne 17:40, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

  • Agreed. These should only be used for the "final death." Palpatine is an exception because there is major hullabaloo about his first death in many sources. Like... the films. But for anyone else it's just confusing. Thefourdotelipsis 02:34, April 26, 2010 (UTC)
  • Totally, it's just too confusing. Not to mention the fact that things r getting wierded out, things r changing all the time. Please don't change my edit on Leia's real memory of her mother.--Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo 21:36, May 29, 2010 (UTC)
  • Since most of us agree that the date of death should be removed do to the fact that it wasnt a permanent death and that only special cases like Palpatine should have death dates like this due to the fact that his original body was destroyed but his soul wasnt. Shouldn't someone remove it? jedi_master425 October 4, 2010
  • I concur as well. I might add that in Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force, Leia states that Vader did not only wound her, but killed her during the Duel on Mimban, as she had stopped breathing before Luke healed her with the Kaiburr crystal. So unless we want to start adding multiple death dates to her infobox, it would really be best to left that field for definite deaths as Cull Tremayne suggested. I'll go and remove it now, shall I? Why were Darth Vader, Galen Marek, and Palpatine not able to sense her strong connection to the force when they were in her presence? They were able to sense it in others. jedi_master425 October 4, 2010

  • Maybe it was because She didn't know herself that she was Force-sensitive. or maybe they did, but didn't realize quite how force sensitive she was. Unsigned comment by (talk • contribs).

I think someone ought to put more in about the effects being tortured by Darth Vader had on her. (I don't just mean the physical effects) Torture is by defenition an attempt to break the will of the one being tortured and would be extremely traumatizing for anyone, even in this galaxy where the methods of torture are much more primitive. But I think in many ways more than the torture itself (that is in the ordinary sense: physical pain)it would be the mind probing that would leave the most lasting mark. I noticed from the very beginning, watching the movies, thet she seemed very reserved. Not silent- she was always saying funny things, and teasing people, poking fun at Han and Luke, flirting with them- but it seemed that there was much that she kept hidden, as though she was afraid to let anyone in, afraid to let anyone really know her. It seems to me that in many ways this could be related to what happened to her on the Death Star. She had to conceal everything as much as she could. Her mind was being searched, taken apart and examined piece by piece, but she must not, and would not, reveal the secret that they searched for. At least for a while after that, I think, any sort of questioning, even of the most ordinary kinds, would bring to mind what she had been through then, and before revealing anything she would- instinctively, almost- think twice, because she had had to tell her self so often not to tell. It seems that that fear, that fear of revealing anything, would have, and did, if iI judge her character right, linger on, growing less, of course, as the years went by. But perhaps even for the rest of her life a little voice in the back of her head would continue to say,"Don't tell!" 17:58, December 1, 2010 (UTC)a little Leia-crazy Star Wars fan (please forgive my sister for sounding like a psychologist and having senences that last for five lines. she does that when she's trying to make a point) 17:58, December 1, 2010 (UTC)another long lost Solo cousin

Luke and Leia kiss pictureEdit

Currently the article shows this
Leia luke kiss

Leia and Luke about to kiss in 3 ABY.

in the Romances section. Did this actually happen in any canon source? I've only just finished watching ESB and the more I looked, the more that scene wasn't there. ;) There is a different scene, where Leia kissed Luke in front of Han to show how annoyed she was with Han. The picture currently displayed in the article is something else, and looks a great deal more romantic - which is objectionable for obvious reasons. There was some UST in the first two movies, yes, but played pretty much for laughs. There was nothing of this sort; this is just not the Luke and Leia most of us know. Or did this actually happen in one of the many versions of the movie that have been released by now? Markus Ramikin 18:55, December 13, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure but I remember that (at least once upon a time) cut scenes were considered canon if there was no other canon that contradicts them. So being a cut scene from ESB it would make the picture canon even if it doesn't feature in the movie itself. But I'm not entirely sure if that is correct Wookieepedia policy.--Dionne Jinn (Something to say?) 19:02, December 13, 2010 (UTC)

I've noticed that Leia's article is in need of some major updating. When can we expect to see it updated? Unsigned comment by (talk • contribs).

Ok, I was just checking up on some things and noticed that her Height was supposedly 1,5m and her weight was 49 kg. This can't be right, 150cm (1,5m) is 5 feet 11.1 inches and 49 kg is 108lbs. 20:08, August 15, 2011 (UTC)

  • I don't see the problem. 49 kilograms is a perfectly normal weight for someone who is 1.5 meters tall, giving a body mass index (= body weight divided by the square of height) of ~21.8. Anything from 18.5 to 25 is considered normal. (Not that I've heard of BMI being used in the GFFA, but this was just to prove a point. :P) Tinwe(comlink) 12:02, September 3, 2011 (UTC)

Alive during Sith-Imperial War?Edit

Well, Luke dies, sometime. However, his death range could be as late as just prior to the attack of One Sith?

Not to mention, Ben could be alive as well. Is it possible Leia is alive during the 130 A.B.Y era or is it confirmed, though not specified, that she died sometime prior to then? MongooseLover 18:33, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

  • Please use the = sign for headers. The way you did it lacked an edit button. It says "before 130 BBY" because that is the earliest date we can source. If we said "Before 90 BBY", we'd not be able to do that. Humans have been known to live longr than normal in Star Wars, but he should die well before the One Sith attack. Why was the image of Leia brushing her hair after a shower removed? Unsigned comment by (talk • contribs).

  • I sampled the page history and couldn't find an image matching that description. However, I ask you why it should be put back in. There are plenty of images in this article as it stands. NaruHina Talk Anakinsolo 00:45, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
    • I would assume the anon was referring to this image which was never used in her article. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 00:57, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
      • I seem to remember seeing it in the article at one time. If it was included, I suspect that it was removed because—like Naru said—there are plenty of other images (that IMO are more relevant to Leia's character) and adding more would make the page seem cluttered. Tinwe(comlink) 12:37, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
This image is featured on both Shower and Hairbrush which is probably enough. I do question the context though. That she is brushing her hair wearing little more than a towel is apparent, but how do we know she came out of the shower? Couldn't she have been in the bath? What text clarifies that she showered? +Yc 04:24, March 14, 2013 (UTC)

PLEASE ADD ARTICALS PAST Fate of the jedi Backlash Edit

Guys its canon that shes married to han but on the canon page it doesnt show her as having Organa Solo it just says Organa we should change that and merge the article more because i clicked on canon it redirected me and i was like ??????? Unsigned comment by Shellpaw (talk • contribs).

  • Well, if I'm understanding you correctly, the two articles should most certainly not be merged. This is the Legends counterpart - that is, the old, now non-canon, expanded universe, to her canon character. I would support adding a Legends tab to the URL of this page, though I'm not sure if that is inline with the naming policy of Wookieepedia. As far as we can tell, Leia Organa Solo may have once ben her name in the current canon, though she seems to "most recently" identify as Leia Organa. Perhaps we can add "formerly Leia Organa Solo" under her canon article in the introductory paragraph. Reddyredcp (talk) 07:18, May 1, 2016 (UTC)

Ph.D Edit

Is director's commentary considered canon? Edward T.H. (talk) 07:35, August 6, 2017 (UTC)

Does that make Lucas' charachter description of Leia a hypothetical one or a factive one? Are we to assume that Princess Leia really got her Ph. D at age 19, or are we to assume that Lucas was only just describing her charachter? There was never any mentioning of her getting her degree in the movies, nor was sche ever called Dr. (Princess) Leia Organa. Edward T.H. (talk) 07:53, August 6, 2017 (UTC)
That description didn't really sound all that hypothetical, to be honest. I'm pretty sure he would have used words like "what if" or "if this happened" or stuff like that if he was trying to be all hypothetical. So far as whether it's canon or not, if stuff Lucas says on the Jon Stewart show about Obi-Wan Kenobi's home planet that was literally intended to be a joke can qualify as canon, I'm pretty sure the director's commentary would count as canon (at least barring any direct contradictions to past statements, development notes dating back to development, or the film itself), especially when unlike the time he talked about Star Wars on the Jon Stewart show, he'd need to be serious since he's literally talking about his own creation and its development on something that would require him to be serious. And besides, I've seen people have Ph.Ds being issued in subjects that shouldn't even require doctors in the first place, like literature. And a Ph.D for Leia would have worked for the political sciences at least since she was studying to become a Senator. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 09:45, August 6, 2017 (UTC)
EDIT: Here's the exact words from that commentary:
"[Leia is] Young, nineteen, the same age as what Luke was supposed to be, but instead of being kind of an idealistic naïve farm boy from the far reaches of the netherlands, she's like a very sophisticated, urbanized ruler, a Senator, so she's a politician, she's accomplished, she's graduated, got her PhD at nineteen and she rules people and is in charge. [I needed an actress] who could be young and play with a lot of authority . . . and push these guys around."
So yeah, make that what you will, and it certainly doesn't sound hypothetical at all. On a side note, I couldn't help but notice when reading and transcribing it that Lucas sounds like a valley boy in this. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 10:08, August 6, 2017 (UTC)
