Gotta Say it . . .Edit

Is this anything like Darth Nihil's long-staffed weapon?Tocneppil 23:07, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Presumably Nihl's is simply his own custom weapon, whereas the Shadows Guards obviously based theirs on the force pikes of the Royal Guards. However, it's possible some future publication will cite Nihl's as a lightsaber pike - Captain Kwenn Talk 23:09, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
No, Nihil had a lightsaber staff.

GlaveEdit

this is like a glaive, instead of a quarter staff, some one please clarify this.RogueJedi 11:50, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Article Merger Edit

Shouldn't this be merged with the lightsaber staff article? Seems to be an identical or extremely similar iteration of the same weapon. 24.196.3.142 14:15, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

  • I would agree with that, they are basically the same weapon, just somewhat different lengths.Jensaarai 20:31, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
    • A lightsaber pike has a blade at the end. They're not the same. Cyfiero 03:13, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Nevermind... I always thought it was a blade. I didn't bother reading it... sorry. In fact since the lightsaber staff's name is conjectural, they may be in fact the same thing except the lightsaber pike is the correct name.... Cyfiero 03:17, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Saber-Staff Edit

IIRC, isn't this called a "saber-staff" in the Force Unleashed novel? Barringer Jedi symbol.svg 07:29, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Kazdan Paratus Edit

Paratus saber.jpg

That's his lightsaber from the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. It only has one emitter. BarringerSith Quad-Sun.svg 10:26, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Too bad. TFU game shows him using a double-bladed saber. One of the sources must be wrong. --Bold Clone 19:15, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
The TFU game shows him using a lightsaber pike, see this picture File:Paratus vs Starkiller.jpg, both sources agree. Grunny (Talk) 19:24, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
The game also shows him using a double-bladed yellow lightsaber. --Bold Clone 19:34, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
  • The PS2 game also shows the Executor being completed around two years before A New Hope, which is untrue. Since the PS2/Wii/PSP versions were subcontracted to a different developer (Krome Studios), it seems likely that the 360/PS3 version takes precedence in contradictory details since the latter two were developed by LucasArts. BarringerSith Quad-Sun.svg 00:07, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

in tfu it depends if its for wii or xbox. on xbox kazdan paratus has a pike but for wii a double baded saber.

Pike Orgins Edit

This looks more like a Naginata. A weapon carried by the women of the Samurai class of feudal Japan. So why is it called a pike here?--Allurade Dendra 02:01, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Probably because 'naginata' is harder to say than pike, and usage of the word 'pike' already existed in canon (Force Pike) and although pikes were stab-only weapons, mounting a lightsaber on the end makes it similar in appearance. You could equally argue why it's not called a lightsaber spear, or a lightsaber guan dao (I like this one the best), or a lightsaber glaive...
It's called a pike here because, quite simply, this official source calls it a lightsaber pike. We go with canon names wherever possible. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 20:37, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
It says it resembles a poleaxe but it clearly better resembles the Naginata.Allurade Dendra 23:16, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
