I believe quite a few of these droids have entries under different names (usually with just the model number, not droid type). Should these names be changed, else we might get repeats of established pages - Kwenn

Suggested Guidelines

for model, put the alphanumerical model followed by "-series" (ie, "3PO-series) rather than more descriptive names (ie, 3PO protocol droid) WHENEVER possible; in some cases (ie, acid battle droid) this is not possible since series name is currently unknown

for purpose, use the act of the purpose (ie, assassination) rather than the actor (ie, assassin)

for links, I suggest all droid articles, if possible, be named/renamed after the alphanumerical series, ie, simply "R2-series" rather than "R2 astromech" or "R2-series astromech"

I'm not a mod, so these are suggestions, but please follow them for consistency, or suggest alternate regulations for consistency, and maybe official ones can eventually be established? ;)JustinGann 11:49, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Good ideas, however we must be careful in instances that renaming droids to just include their series, ie. R2 series, that there isn't another R2 something out there that will conflict, although R2 won't have that problem but something else might. -- Riffsyphon1024 12:48, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- The current policy I am pursuing is to make the list with the ##-series, but link to articles as named keeping an eye out for redundant articles. I've done 3-4 mergers so far.JustinGann 14:22, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
  - Sorry to re-open an old topic but... well, I don't entirely agree with putting "##-series" on every droid model. Some of them do have the "Series" word on their names, so in those cases it would be accurate to add the word. But on some others like the 2-1B surgical droid, that don't have the word "Series" on their name, it doesn't seem appropiate to me to add it. I don't know if anyone else is taking a look at this Talk anymore but I just wanted to trhow this out there. Carlitos Moff 18:41, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
