Bypassing Shields Edit

citation needed for this, note Empire at War forces of corruption is not a valid source, as Game Mechanics are explicitly non canon.

• A projectile would bypass ray shielding, however that's the purpose of particle shielding, to defend against projectiles (i.e. missiles, or in this case mass-driven projectiles). The only way it would prove an advantage is if an opponent's shielding was geared more towards energy defense, in other words, the majority of its shielding were ray shields and its particle shielding was comparatively weak. However, I don't know a source where this explanation could be referenced. Any help? My understanding of this is taken primarily from descriptions on page xv of The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels. Pages 2-3 and 74-75 of The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology are somewhat relevant but not much help. Xavic Kae 03:29, May 12, 2010 (UTC)
