Talk:Mercy

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

As far as I can tell, the book described the Mercy as being under construction at the time of its liberation by the Rebels. The New Hope, Mon Mothma's commandship, was stated to be over 100 years old and recently mothballed. I think the two have been mixed up.

The hospital ship Mercy, an antiquated Dreadnaught, two assault frigates, a squadron of Corellian gun ships, and assorted support vessels orbited a devastated world.

The author is listing the ships, the New Hope is the antiquated Dreadnaught mentioned. VT-16 01:42, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

  • I also think so. In addition the Mercy is supposed to be 2km long. Of course that won't match the Dreadnaught-class. I think we coud add that to Behind the scenes. Pi8ch 08:09, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mercy is a Nebulon-B frigate

Mercy is a Nebulon B frigate. Why is there confusion about this? This is the hospital ship that Kyle get treated in after he obtains the data disk from 8t88 on Nar Shaddaa. What source conflicts with that? - JMAS Hey, it's me! 19:44, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

  • The novelization describes the Mercy as a 2km long ship, not a Nebulon-B frigate. The scenes and sequence of events are also vague enough in both versions to be considered different times in the story. We only see Kyle sleep in the Nebulon-B, he gets a full treatment on the Mercy. Jan also doesn't talk to Kyle on the Mercy. Basically, with the Mercy being described as overflowing with patients, it's not surprising that Kyle, after feeling better, got moved to a different ship. [edit] "Medium size?"

How can a ship which is larger than either an Imperial Star Destroyer or a Mon Calamari Cruiser be described as "medium sized?" --Amican 22:55, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
