THE BIG MISTERYEdit

It is canon that the Mon Calamari openly revolted against the Empire and that the shipyards were the main producer of capital ships for the Rebel Alliance.

Why didn't the Empire send a task force to reduce the shipyards to slag? Are their any hints to this mystery available? --Sage21

• Yes, it's canon, and one of the reasons the Empire didn't try to retake Mon Cal space immidiately, is because of the far away location of Mon Calamari and the fact that they would have to spend alot of time and resources adjusting their shipyards to Imperial production (which they already tried to do unsuccessfully during the occupation). Their time would come eventually, but the Empire had more things to worry about. I also believe there was a book that mentioned a large part of their fleet remained in the sector simply to discourage Imperial task forces from engaging the world. VT-16 13:59, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
