Talk:Morichro

Back to page

Umm... why is Mirax Terrik listed as a possible example of the technique and Kyp Durron listed as definite one? The technique the Jensaarai used on Mirax in I, Jedi exhibits enough of the hallmarks of the technique for us to ignore the omission of its name, and these are described in the text of I, Jedi. As such, I'm invoking the exemption listed in 2.2 of the Attribution policy, changing her from 'possible' to 'almost certain', and adding a dispute flag pending independent confirmation.

  1. Corran's reaction to the technique's use on Mirax is directly compared to Leia's reaction when Han gets frozen in carbonite. While this comparison is framed as speculation, the entire conversation it's made in is framed the same way and includes several conclusions that are considered official canon.
  2. Luke specifically mentions that normally a Force trance cannot be used on another person against their will. The bit about her being broken is framed as pure speculation -- and unlike my first point, the speculator makes it clear this is something he's never seen before.
  3. Luke also specifically mentions that Mirax's thoughts have been "slowed to the point where they barely register" (which is IIRC also used by Mara Jade to describe what Kyp did to himself in Champions of the Force, although It's been a while)... and for all his power, skill, and experience even he (Luke) can't find Mirax -- only Corran can find her. Same speculative tone as the first point, same conversation. User:DraconicPadawan 15:17, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
  • The reason that Mirax is listed only as a possible example is because the Jensaari may have used a different technique unique to them. Remember, too, that their philosophy and methodology was a blend of Sith and Jedi teachings. Morichro was not practiced by those who used the dark side of the Force, therefore possibly not something that a Jeensari would likely have used. Gethralkin 01:20, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Reword the 1st sentence Edit

"Powerful but potentially deadly" doesn't sound right. Its the power of an offensive technique ranked by deadliness. Also we should reward it so the article makes it clear that it could be used on other people.--TheDoctor42 21:09, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
