Talk:Muun
Back to page
Hello...I just looked over my book "Star Wars Attack of the Clones: The Visual Dictionary", and it says that most Muun have a dark skin color, and that San Hill's was pale because he seldom went outdoors. That means "...had pasty-white skin", isn't true, doesn't it? Or are the Visual Dictionaries not considered canon? -Darth 03:01, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- I dunno, all other Muuns we've seen look just like San. They're all bankers mostly, so I don't think there are sunbathing Muuns out there. But so far we've seen only pale yellow Muuns. --Sauron18 03:05, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, think about it: Sith mainly hid before Maul—and the Sith Order itself—was re-revealed in 32 BBY. Plagueis was probably in hiding, so his skin probably would have been white. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

But also, all of the Muun we've seen are bankers, just like San Hill, and they probably never get outside either... -Darthvadersnewmaster 16:07, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- There is....another Muun, which is meant to represent the species, ut he looks the same. --Sauron18 16:13, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think the whole "dark skin color" thing was basically disregarded, or, as I would call it, "pulling a SuperShadow". Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Muuns in Specter of the Past?
Edit
How are they described in it?--Rune Haako 22:27, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't even remember them in there. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Going over the book this morning in preparation to work on the Caamas Document Crisis page, I found the following quote:
"Across from Pellaeon the confrence room slid open - and a lean man wearing the traditional Muunilinsti banker's shawl and pendant stepped inside" - Specter of the Past, page 100.
At no point is the race of this person ever explicitly mentioned, but considering what we know now, I wouldn't be surprised if the dreaded R word was invoked to explain this. TIEPilot051999 16:58, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Is the lean man named?--Rune Haako 17:16, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Not that I can see, no. TIEPilot051999 17:20, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, if they're not called Muuns, I'll have to do something with the Appearances section. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

A Muun in the Star Wars Holiday Special?
Edit
Could that be a Muun in front of Boba Fett?
- It sure looks like one. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Wow. I never noticed that before. I smell a retcon. Adamwankenobi 01:16, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

- Yep, and there's also another one.--Rune Haako 04:07, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Main image
Edit
- The current main image is *terrible*. Are there no alternatives? What about another shot of San Hill from the films? jSarek 19:13, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
- I think it's a good image only because it shows a more common Muun, not one of the most famous ones. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
00:11, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- But it's artwork instead of live action, it's filled with artifacts, and it doesn't really show a different Muun than those we see in the movies anyway. jSarek 00:47, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- The face is different, though. Not a big deal, yes, but I think it's pretty good. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
00:50, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- I don't really mind having that pic instead of San Hill's, but I think it's not of the best quality. - TopAce 00:16, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- Could a better-quality version of the image be uploaded? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
00:17, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know, I think that would require a Photoshop-artist to sharpen it and modifying images are against Wookieepedia policies. - TopAce 00:20, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- What I meant was, could a better version be uploaded from wherever this one came from? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
00:21, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know that, either. I wasn't complaining anyway. As I said, I don't mind having that as a main image, but I agreed with JSarek that it's low-quality. It does show different features for a Muun than San Hill's, that's true, but in my experience, hi-quality images are more likely to be used as main images as opposed to those of lower quality. - TopAce 00:23, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- I still think it's fine. But what other alternatives do we have? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Since higher quality images are preferred, I switched the infobox image with San Hill's. The fact that he's a famous Muun shouldn't make any difference: see our images for Human and Devaronian, for example. - Lord Hydronium 07:40, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Humans on Muunilinst=Muuns
Edit
I see the bts section mention this as an "error" in the EAW:FOC game, but what if between the end of the CW and the start of the GCW, a large amount of humans were encouraged by the Empire to migrate to alien Separatist territories, maybe in an attempt to dominate them in a humanocentric society, and then became assimilated into the populations? That could explain the human San Hill. VT-16 18:32, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Unit 8311 said that Humans on Muunilinst are incorrectly called Muuns in loading screens. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Yes, I know, that's what I was responding to. Human adaption and usurption of Muun culture. VT-16 21:45, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Pronunciation
Edit
I think it would be a good idea to include a bit of information on how to pronounce the word "Muun," as well as pretty much every other alien word that exists in the Star Wars galaxy. By the way, I also think it might be a good idea for the Star Wars galaxy to have an actual name. Maybe they've already created one at the Star Wars Fanon Wiki.--Padawananimator 22:46, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Near-Duros?
Edit
The Muun look a lot like stretched out Duros or Nemoidians to me. Any sources that suggest they're related? --86.149.67.142 22:01, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
dont know of any sorce. they do look slightly like duros, however look at their eyes. duros and neimoidians have bulgeing red eyes, but muuns eyes are rather small. —Unsigned comment by 97.114.141.216 (talk • contribs).
