Talk:Nelvaanian

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

Is there any source for calling the Nelvaanians "ursine?" To me, they appear more feline... And amazingly, the Starwars.com databank calls them "a primitive species of canine-muzzled humanoids." --70.121.26.115 03:28, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Ursine is used to refer to bears. To me, those Nelvaanians resembled bears. MyNz 11:18, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

To me, they look like a cross between ursine, and feline, but with a canine build.... Master Halcyon

I see where you get ursine from, but may I suggest that Nelvaanians have a touch of lupine in them as well?

Look I don't have any thing else to do with my life. I lost my job, my girl friend leaft me, All I have is my life must I take that as well?

[edit] Nelvana

If the Nelvaanians are indeed named after the Nelvana animation company, they would be ursine, not lupine or feline,as The company mascot is a bear, not a wolf,a dog,or a cat. Sochwa 00:59, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

{Maccus} Hellow I'm new to this site and I'm not quite sure on how it works.

[edit] Those white things the Nelvaanians ride?

I wasn't sure where to ask.

Do they have a name? Is there already an article made on them?--Rune Haako 19:54, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nelvaanian language

The language of Nelvaanian is based not only on Hungarian. There are several Russian prases in Nelvaanian characters' cues. E.g., after destroying the Separatists' machinery, Nelvaanian leader says in Russian: "We can go home. Let's go home!" ("Мы можем идти домой. Идём домой!").

68.44.147.238 00:50, 31 December 2006 (UTC) Does anyone think that there might be differant races of nelvaanians like europeans?

What do you guys think about Tuzes-Adaz?

That will be "Tüzes-Ádáz" in Hungarian spelling, it may be translated to English as "Fiery-Vicious".--Domlith 13:08, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

The nelvanians are saying Holt Kazed or Holt Kezed? Just because the latter one is undoubtadly hungarian and meaning "Your ghost hand". 22:00, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit]  ???

Are they related to Bothans?

  • General Grham Talk to me. 11:02, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Only in the sense of both being mammalian, according to the article,Bothan are supposed to be equines, not Canid or Ursid,as the derivation of the Nelvaanians from the Nelvana Polar bear would tend to imply.Sochwa 03:27, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
  • I looked at the gide book that describes Bothans as Canine and Equine. But, in the New Essential Gide To Alien Species it describes them as Feline. I believe they are Canine, Feline, and Equine in one species because if you look closely at their features, they have all features of those groups. Also, Nelvaanains are described as Canine, if they're both Lupine (wolfs) and Ursine (bears) that's fine with me. Even though I believe they're related, even to the Cathar and the Thakwaash.-Endor chicken

[edit] Rokrul village

To me, the article makes it sound like all male Nelvaanians became the CIS mutants...as far as I know, and as far as I can tell from the Clone Wars episode, only the males from Rokrul Village were altered, with other Nelvaanian males being unaffected. Could someone verify? If that is indeed the case, the text of the article should be clarified. Jenosidanian 19:05, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
