Talk:Neo-Crusader armor

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

What about the armor seen in the KotoR comics?--Darth OblivionComlink 03:10, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree, what about the armours of the neos in Kotor comics?

Here's a female, it seems.

And others from the invasion on vanquo.

Discuss? Anyone sure of the status of those?

[edit] Proposal for edit

I've re-written this article with the new information gathered from both the comics and the games. I think it's more appropriate to not include SWG as a appearance, because the armour there isn't identical to the Neo-Crusader armour. Also, I propose the reason for the armour taking the place of the others be explained here as well.

Now of course, it ain't complete but I hope you get the idea of what I mean by this.

Neo-Crusader armor was a type of Mandalorian armor developed sometime after the Great Sith War and used during the Mandalorian Wars and the later Jedi Civil War.

After the defeat of the Mandalorian Crusaders in 3,996 BBY, the new Mandalore began recruiting new warriors to fill the ranks of his Neo-Crusaders. When the Mandalorian Wars started, newly conquered planets became a source of increasing strength, and also a source of increasing problems. The Mandalorians, once a single species with a single language shortly became diverse, and humans quickly became the majority. There was not enough time to learn the Mandalorian ways for all of the recruits before being caught up in battle. This quickly became a problem, as they became ill-disciplined and sometimes rebellious.[1]

Due to recommendation from Cassus Fett sometime before 3,964 BBY, new recruits were given a more uniform design armor to give them a sense of unity and order. This armor came in a red, blue and golden color with white markings over it. The color seemed to represent a certain rank, blue being given to new recruits and gold reserved for more experienced warriors. During the Jedi Civil War, and the late First Jedi Purge this type of armor was exclusively used, and the design became known as Neo-Crusader Armor.

  • I find it unlikely this Mandalorian armor was made out of Mandalorian Iron, look at it it's completely metel. It was mass produced too. Also if it was Mandalorian Iron they would be nearly invincible.Sith-venator7:45PM 9-6-08
    • It is confirmed, really. It is shown in issue #26 that it blocks lightsabres and is harder than the former types, and obviously Mando iron isn't rare in this time period (Freedon Nadd's tomb is made out of it for example). But it doesn't make them invincible because the regular Neo-Crusader is untrained and of low quality due to lack of standards later in the Mandalorian War, which is stated in the Campaign guide. Otherwise, it's pretty much confirmed that they're using the Mandalorian iron here.Gratulor - User Page 18:03, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
