Canon?[]

To quote a game that's not canon as a canon source that identifies Nik as a canon character is not exactly legit. Seriously now, Nik is not canon. This is highly speculative. --ChristopherLeeGallant (talk) 21:09, August 5, 2017 (UTC)

  • We have been using the card game as a canon source, why you say is not canon?--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 21:14, August 5, 2017 (UTC)
    • I think this conversation can justify Force Collection being used as a canon source for character names --Lewisr (talk) 21:16, August 5, 2017 (UTC)
      • I understand the argument, but that's highly speculative. Afterall, the game came out before the official canon date. Are we to make an exception for one little card game isn't officially labeled as canon? After today's recent tweet that makes it appear that Rex will be retconed as Pathfinder Nik Sant, we still don't even know if the name 'Nik Sant' will stick in canon. Again, Leeland's tweet doesn't confirm the game as absolute canon. It only states that the content 'fits' with canon. If we are going to acknowledge this game as canon, then we should also be submitting the young adult prequel novels as canon because the text in the most recent editions was altered to 'fit' with canon.--ChristopherLeeGallant (talk) 22:02, August 5, 2017 (UTC)
        • Until they officially say Rex was the guy in episode 6 this Nik Sant page is fine, lucasfilm has said on multiple occasions they aren't going to change the names of characters unleess its really necessary for them too, other canon pages have been made using Force collection as a source so are we just going to delete all those too? --Lewisr (talk) 22:07, August 5, 2017 (UTC)
          • The tweet is still a bit confusing and I still don't see a more "Official" confirmation that it is, as Leland tweet said they wouldn't change the name of a background character unless they have a good reason. I believe that Nik Sant is Rex and Filoni had said it too many times that it must be true, but the game was said to be used as a canon source, maybe you can ask a story group member if Nik Sant is Rex now, since I believe you bring up this only because of that tweet, and we don't do declare the whole source as Legends, kind of Ultimate Star Wars being a canon source but Hego Damask reference is not part of the continuity--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 22:10, August 5, 2017 (UTC)
            • I'll concede that tweet isn't the best one but I have seen other tweets saying they wouldn't change the names of characters being used as the source for names, but if its ever confirmed it's Rex then obviously there isn't a need for this page so we just have to wait and see --Lewisr (talk) 22:24, August 5, 2017 (UTC)
              • So what is the official status of this character? I've been hearing things. Darth Ravigious (talk) 18:16, August 8, 2017 (UTC)
                • The writer has deletd the original tweet and said that he doesn't know if Rex is Nik--ZapikCZ (talk) 18:21, August 8, 2017 (UTC)

So we've now got this character (or a character in Nik's place) shown with clone trooper armour on Endor in Galaxy of Adventures. Still not confirmation that he's actually Rex, but it might be worth making a note of. Nik also appears without the armour in the Rebel briefing room at the end of the video. - TLM86 19:52, June 14, 2019 (UTC)

Same thing has now happened in Ewoks vs. The Empire - Small but Mighty. We really need an official stance on this. 104.189.157.130 12:10, July 8, 2019 (UTC)

This guy's actor[]

Is there any information on the actor who played this character? I've wasted the last 10 minutes of my life trying to search for info on who played him, and so far I have nothing, which honestly surprises me because Wookieepedia is unbelievably thorough for a wiki.

Anyone know who played him? SorcererSupreme21 (talk) 07:09, November 1, 2019 (UTC)

  • It's very hard to find any info on background movie characters, even when it's Star Wars. I wouldn't be surprised if people over at Lucasfilm don't know either, seeing as it's never been brought up (though it might also be because very few people care) - Vanilulew standing by 10:11, November 1, 2019 (UTC)
    • There is one thing I can tell you for sure: Nik was NOT portrayed by Cliff Alliston, no matter what some websites may tell you. Alliston clearly portrayed a different commando. Now, this particular mystery intrigues me. I think I'm going to try and find out... --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 11:12, November 1, 2019 (UTC)

Portrayal[]

Nik Sant was portrayed in Return of the Jedi by Lynn Berner of Klamath, CA. Lynn owned the land on which the Endor scenes were shot and was given an extra role in exchange for the use of the land. Lynn was 38 at the time and contrary to popular belief, he did not have white hair and beard. Lynn has very, very light blonde hair, almost Albino in appearance.

I know this because Lynn is my first cousin once removed and I've known him since I was a kid and talked to him to confirm this information. He's 73 now and still lives on the land.

I don't have an account and am probably formatting this wrong, but I will check back to see if anyone has questions or comments. Hell, you can look up his phone online and call and ask him about it. Don't tell him I told you to do that. lol I tried to put some of this on the main page, but someone removed it right away. There's no online place for it for a citation, so... Whatever. • Hello. Unfortunately, this is considered original research, per our attribution policy, which we don't allow here. Calling him won't do no any good, too. You can proceed three different ways, either you create a webpage (using wordpress for example), and document the information so that no doubt can exist. Or, present your case to some fansite out there, to publish an article with the same purpose. Lastly, you can try to work with Lucasfilm, or some associated writers (some are really fond of this kind of research), and eventually, the information will surface someday, maybe on the official blog, maybe elsewhere. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 11:29, May 9, 2020 (UTC)

--LOL... Thanks for taking the time to respond, but I'm not going to that effort. Got people on here and other sites wanting to know who the actor was and I stumbled upon it and decided to help. The fella above complains that he looked for a whopping 10 minutes and couldn't find anything. I've spent a lot more time than that trying to get this site and another trying to accept the information I gave. At this point, you can discard my input if you want (the other site did) and Lynn will die of old age and I won't return here and no one will ever know the story. Kind of cool story to discard over lame attribution policies, but not my site, not my rules. Unsigned comment by 173.245.133.190 (talk • contribs).

  • I should note that one of the continuity polaroids for the movie is labeled "L. Burner". I presume this is a spelling mistake on Lucasfilm's part, but that does seem to validate your story! :-) --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 08:43, September 14, 2020 (UTC)
