Talk:Niman
Back to page
I asked Abel how come Form Vi AND Jar'Kai are named Niman. This is his response:
"Wow, I don't blame you for not getting that one, and I'm surprised nobody's brought it up before this. Basically, because Niman was named after a "dual triumvirate of Kashi gods" (i.e. 2 pairs of a trio of gods = 6), that's why the name applies to both Florentine-style dueling and Form VI lightsaber combat: the pair of gods called Niman symbolically represents the two lightsaber fighting while the total number of gods represents Form VI. Therefore, it's a bit on an elitist club when "savvy" modern Jedi practitioners call Jar'Kai, the more popular name for the Florentine style combat, Niman." JustinGann 06:21, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
