Talk:Nova-class battle cruiser

So first the Klingons give Birds of Prey to the Romulans, and now it's the Hapans? Kuralyov 18:48, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Consumables
Edit
The data box says a month, while the text of the article says a year. Which is it? 71.236.33.191 23:36, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
"Hapes Nova" v. "Nova"
Edit
I was under the impression that these were Nova-class cruises, not Hapes Nova-class. Am I wrong? --SparqMan 17:07, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Essential Guide to Vehicles specifically calls them Hapes Nova-class more than one, using italics for both words - Kwenn 17:33, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- The Official Star Wars Fact File calls it the Hapes Nova-class, rather than the Hapes Nova-class, as you can see here, here, here, and here. The New Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels also calles it a Nova-class, so it seems that this is what it's meant to be. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 17:57, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Agents of Chaos calls them Hapes Nova-class, IIRC. Kuralyov 18:31, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Nova?
Edit
am i alone here or do the nova class ships look like dragons and the the dragon class ships slightly resemble super novas
somone messed up in the naming!
Nova-crusiers speed???
Edit
in the book courtship of princess leia, isolder said the ship could come right at the falcon and destroy it before they could do anything, so it should be fast? but the artice said it could only go to 100 km per hour a Venator-class Star Destroyer goes faster, if the artice is right then the crusier is a hunk of junk!!!!
- Well, atmospheric speed and sub-light speed are different things, but yeah, 100 kph is crazily low. -LtNOWIS 03:22, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. What is the source for 100 kph? That's stupid. Really stupid. Also, consumables are listed as 1 month when the article says they can operate for a year. Atarumaster88

- The consumables rating is from Cracken's Threat Dossier, but I can't find where the speed rating comes from to be honest. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 21:57, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- I don't favor one side or the other, but when the article clearly contradicts itself, that's just too much. I see that the article says they can patrol for a Standard year but the infobox says otherwise. And if that's 100 kilometers/hour, that is ridiculously slow to the point of absurdity. Atarumaster88

Overall Language
Edit
Let's make sure we use proper sentence structure and wording. "However" is very often misused in this wiki, as is the word "that". Xnuiem 15:03, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Let's also make sure we don't eliminate info in our zealousness to clean up an article- I reverted your first cleanup because you changed the meaning of the article. It's not a big deal, but please don't do it again. Secondly, we try not to use the word "interdiction" in reference to stopping pirates and smugglers because it is usually associated with gravity-well projector carrying ships like the Immobilizer 418 cruiser. - The only info removed was either unsupported or just wrong. But in an effort to learn from your perspective, what was removed (or added) that you felt changed the meaning of the article? Also, about "interdiction" granted, and that thought occured to me, however it was the correct word. I will refrain using it in the future to avoid the possible confusion, which is most assuredly not the point. Xnuiem 16:04, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- In the first cleanup that you did, you removed 'a group of planets in the Inner Rim' or something like that- which I didn't see why it had to be removed. Not everyone knows what the Hapes is. Also, "tried to suppress" (the pirates) has a different connotation and is not as encyclopediac as "performed patrol missions." That's a little pickier. Also adding "innumerable" pirates is not supported. These are all minor things, but I felt they changed the connotation if not the denotation of the article. Atarumaster88

Affiliation
Edit
While the Hapan Navy worked in conjunction with the New Republic and Galactic Alliance of Free Alliances, I wouldn't say that this particular starship model is associated with those two governments. I've removed them...let me know if you disagree. — SparqMan Talk 20:54, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- I say that's fair for the NR though the GA did include the Hapan Cluster. Atarumaster88

Relations to SoaSE
Edit
To any Sins of a Solar Empire fans: Doesn't this look like the TEC's jack-of-all-trades light frigate, the Cobalt Light Frigate? Was it stolen from SoaSE, or vice versa? Or just a coincedence? MastahCheef117 21:34, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
