Edit
Where did that quote , as well as the oter info(such as being used as makeshift currency)came from? It is in the game? Hominid 20:32, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- It sounds like the Kashyyyk tutorial level(s) from Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. -- I need a name 20:46, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
lightsaber crystal
Edit
I would like to know what´s the source for these being used as lightsaber crystals. It is canon? Thanks Hominid 20:10, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Other Instances
Edit
I'm pretty sure I can remember nova crystals being mentioned in either the Han Solo adventures or the Lando Calrissian adventures somewhere. Does anyone else know? Because if that is the case, then I believe that would be their first mentioning. I think they were also mentioned in a NJO book.Darth Ceratis 20:51, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Battlefront II?
Edit
Where was a Nova Crystal ever in Battlefront II?
- I believe it's on Felucia and on Mygeeto in the Rise of the Empire mode. You must collect them. Chack Jadson 02:12, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Tiberium!
Edit
Is it possible that this is inspired by or inspired Tiberium from the C&C universe? I mean, it is a green crystal, it is dangerous when un-refined, it is very valuable and is often refined for resources! It is the same only it is explosive rather than radioactive and doesn't spread. I am sure this is worth mentioning in behind the scenes.

- Except nova crystals predate the C&C games, though they seem to have been adapted to a similar role for the Star Wars RTS games. jSarek 01:07, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- Than I guess it was an amazing coincidence. Or the AOE II mod makers were inspired by it. It is still a neat thing to have in the 'behind the scenes', I mean, they are both green crystals, they are both very valuable, they are both refined for money in games, they are both dangerous (tiberium has radiation and nova crystals are explosive)... Though nova crystals may predate tiberium in the EU, their use in the game doesn't. .65.27.139.162 22:34, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Edit
Yes, Nova crystals are currency in Galactic Battlegrounds.
I don't know of any reference to them being used for lightsabers... but if you can use broken glass for your focusing crystal, why not an actual crystal? It sounds logical but is it canon?
Apparently, the Nova crystals have some sort of Force connection, though. If you take a Jedi Holocron to your Sith Temple or Jedi Temple, it will generate Nova Crystals in Galactic Battlegrounds.
