Question
Edit
Over the course of centuries, the human colonist's skin darkened due to the high level of UV radiation in the system. Thus, Nubia became the source of the Galaxie's negroid population.
Is this statement backed up by fact?? Master 76 Holodisk Mind TrickJedi Library 03:43, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- What the--that's utter crap. Enochf 03:53, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

"Nubia may have been the ronto homeworld." Source? I don't remember anything suggesting they weren't native to Tatooine.--Valin Kenobi 04:29, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Nubian/Naboo
Edit
In The Phantom Menace, the Royal Naboo Starship is referred to as a "Nubian", leaving many fans to assume, not unreasonably, that "Nubian" was an alternate possessive form of "Naboo".
Are you sure 'many fans' actually assumed that? I'd also contend that assuming such a thing isn't actually all that reasonable. Firstly, there's the fact that 'Nubian' is a real word and so it's not likely going to be used for things coming from Naboo.
In the film they always refer to the people as the Naboo. "We've got to warn the Naboo" and even for things that come from the planet "One Naboo cruiser got past the blockade". So why would they have another word that's slightly similar to say the same thing? 'Nubian' was obviously referring to the type of ship, not the fact that it came from Naboo, especially since the word is only ever used in the film to refer to the ship. Otherwise it would be as if they were saying things like "I need parts for a J-Type 327 Naboo" and "Ah, Naboo. Not bad, not bad." Obviously that doesn't sound very good.
All this leads me to believe that the assumption is in fact quite unreasonable. If all those 'many fans' had thought about it for a bit longer then they might have realised their mistake. Captain Yossarian 21:35, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I for one always thought so. Just until I read this article, that is. Apoc 01:03, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
