Name
Edit
Sigh. Can't we at least give this a better name? --Imp 01:43, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I can't think of anything else. This was the best name I could think of. Cato Neimoidia 01:48, 5 February 2006
I don't think this warrants its own article. The information in here can already be found in the wampa article. And the name makes it sound like its Luke's pet or something, rather than a vicious predator.Wstonefi 16:23, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Move to Luke Skywalker's wampa attacker? Lt. 1993 03:49, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
- I say merge it with the wampa article. I've just done a copyedit on that article and created a new "An eyewitness account" section. It could easily go under that section. WhiteBoy 08:45, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- Is this new article name canon or made up? I suggest we put it into the wampa article proper.--DannyBoy7783 18:18, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- Canon, from the Star Wars Customizable Card Game Special Edition Limited expansion. jSarek 21:40, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed. Imp informed me already. Sorry about that and good job with tracking the name down!--DannyBoy7783 22:03, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- Proud to be of service. :-) jSarek 22:40, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

- Has anyone else noticed that when One-Arm's dismembered arm hits the floor, it looks too short to be the whole arm (which is obviously what she is missing in the next shot)? -Kev-La Ttolya 09:54, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Different Wampas
Edit
What are the sources for the wampa that attacked Luke having a different sex from the one he disarmed in the cave? jSarek 23:31, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- I was wondering the same thing. How can you tell a female wampa apart from a male one without getting up-close-and-personal enough to become a meal for the bloody thing? Jwebb13

- I could be wrong but I may have been the one to put that in here. I recall having a source at one time. I'll see if I can find it again. --DannyBoy7783 08:19, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I don't have the books on me right now but I think it was in either one or both of these: Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy, The Wildlife of Star Wars: A Field Guide. If you need further proof I can source the page next time I get a chance. If I recall, and this was edited a while back, I noticed a minor difference and inferred a lot about them based on that infference. Somewhere it made the distinction between Luke running into a male and female wampa which suggests a number of things about wampa social relations.--DannyBoy7783 08:25, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Doesn't Lucas only refer to it as one creature though in the DVD commentary? --Anguirus111 04:38, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- This wiki includes non-movie information as canon. If we went by what Lucas says as canon and ONLY what he says then the Boba Fett page would be much much shorter because he thinks Fett died in the sarlacc (for example.)--DannyBoy7783 21:47, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Anyway, if we're going by the movies alone, they are two different creatures; the one that attacks Luke is a 1978 mask, while the One-Arm is the 1997 version. They look very different - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 22:38, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- The special edition takes precedence over the original so the original version is out leaving just one mask/costume...but we aren't using just the movies anyway. The book states there are two wampas involved w/ Skywalker on Hoth in Empire. The movie clearly implies one wampa but the book says otherwise and the information doesn't contradict the movie so it's acceptable to include the information.--DannyBoy7783 08:09, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Even in the SE and 2004 releases, the wampa that attacks Luke is the old version - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 08:31, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Your argument is nonsensical. The book states directly that there are two different wampas. The movies doesn't explicitly say that there is only one so it is acceptable to go with what the book says. You only disregard lesser canon information when it directly contradicts the higher canon. --DannyBoy7783 17:57, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- So can we get a reference in this section? To the average fan (ie, one who hasn't read the books), there's only one Wampa: without any source, the notion that there are two of them seems made-up. I mean, a specific sourced reference in that section of the article, not just in the sources or appearances.buttbutt 01:31, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hey there, sorry for taking so long to update this with the source: the page in question is page 20 of Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy. You can see, in the description of the events regarding Luke's wampa encounters, that there is a male AND a female mentioned. ???
Edit
How do we know its a female? I never heard it being a girl.--Jakerl 01:02, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Pay attention to the previous discussions on the talk page please. It's already been addressed. --DannyBoy7783 18:03, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Force sensitivity?
Edit
Speculation and all, but I think there is a possiblity One-arm is at least a slight bit force sensitive. One-Arm was sitting eating and ignoring Luke, even when Luke began to move and woke up. It was only when Luke tried to use the force that One-Arm showed much interest in him. --The Storm 59 14:46, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
Name
Edit
alright i know this was already discussed above. but i think the article really could use a better name. (no offence)
and i was thinking the name 'Wampa From Empire Strikes Back' would fit a little better then 'one arm' am i wrong? AricaBolts 14:41, December 28, 2010 (UTC)
