Talk:Open Circle Fleet
Back to page
This is mostly the same text as "http://www.geocities.com/kwenn86/opencirclearmada". Not sure if that stuff is under copyright, or if they are both from a copyright source. Can anyone check ROTS ICS? That's where it seems they're coming from. I'd rather not edit this until we have that settled. --SparqMan 19:14, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Info from both the sites was taken out from the book, but does not look like a copyright violationl. I say go ahead with the editing make sure it gets cleaned up enough so that its validity does not come into question again.
- That was my old encyclopedia site. It's not copyright, and I took and reworded the info from a variety of sources - Kwenn 16:57, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, Kwenn wouldn't take it all and not reword it. Admiral J. Nebulax 18:07, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)
Emblem Use
Edit
In the article it explains that Open Circle ships rushed off to Felucia, Cato Nemoidia, and Kashyyyk after the Battle of Coruscant, ostensibly to explain the prescence of the emblem on walkers, ships, and crates on those fronts. But I've heard from sources I can't remember at the moment that the reason the emblem was there was that it had spread over time to become a ubiquitous symbol for the Grand Army as a whole, and it's pretty obvious that when ILM added to symbol in Episode III it was designed to be the emblem of the entire Republic army. What I'm asking is where exactly do official sources state that it was Open-Circle-fleet exclusive, if this has indeed been retconned? --Thetoastman 02:46, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I believe you're right about the emblem becoming the symbol for the entire Grand Army. However, this could easily be a technical glitch from in the movie. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Interesting tidbit: A similar symbol appeared on the underside of a speeder in AotC. I was looking through images somewhere on StarWars.com(They redid the site layout, so I'm not sure where it is now), and found it.
Emblem in ESB
Edit
Have stumbled onto something? Take a look at this image! I had to stop and rewind last time I played ESB as it seemed rather too incredible. [Vader kneeling]
Was the use intentional by ILM? Or is it a coincidence? --Katana Geldar 01:49, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
