Is there any need for this? -- Riffsyphon1024 21:31, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)

  • No, not unless this wiki is about to change focus from Star Wars to making people's brains explode. --Imp 21:34, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)
    • The term is used in-universe, though, and some users might search for it. Redirect to Clone Wars? Put cleanup tags on? -- Silly Dan 21:36, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)
      • Well if it is used, it should be shown as a specific time period or stage of the Clone Wars, covering the last days of battle. It can then be covered in the Clone Wars article with this being a redirect to that particular section. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:48, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)
  • This is an acceptable article with no need for a redirect. It should be used to describe in detail the Outer Rim Sieges, which made up the last phase of the Clone Wars. The topic should be touched on in the main Clone Wars article, and expanded here. I imagine that eventually, "Clone Wars" will be more about the conflict and less about the media used to describe it. Right now, it's a fairly minor article. If you believe that it would spawn work on the article, I would not disagree with integrating this content into the main article until it expands. But, it seems no less of a stretch to give this its own article than it is to give Obroa-skai system and Obroa-skai indidividual articles, or any other content that could be easily combined. --SparqMan 22:06, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)

In the article it says that the Republic won a series of key battles at Duro and other places. Well, if you go to the article about the Battle of Duro (Clone Wars) it says that there was a separatist victory there. Which one is right?

The first battle of Duro was a victory for the CIS, but in 20BBY the Republic liberated the planet.

Clone count Edit

"...committed half (200,0000) of Coruscant's clone trooper guard..." Is that supposed to be 2,000,000 or 200,000? --SparqMan 19:50, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)

  • I'd say 200,000. If it was 2,000,000, I'm sure there would be two comas in there. Admiral J. Nebulax 20:49, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)
    • First of all, I'd like to see what the official source actually says on this. Secondly, 200,000? A planet with a population numbering countless trillions somehow can't afford more than 200,000 clones? The ITW:AOTC has millions of divisions undergoing evaluation after the initial ones fighting on Geonosis. That's at least thousands of troops each, with even more joining as the years go on. I'd like to think the minimalistic numbers of SWI #84 hasn't penetrated all areas of the EU... VT-16 21:13, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)
      • I agree. If that is the figure, that seems rather... low. Admiral J. Nebulax 21:15, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)
        • The Coruscant guard number could be justified if they were simply a core-unit, in charge of the self-defense force. I believe there's several sources that site Coruscant having such a force prior to the CW... VT-16 22:26, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)
          • Could you provide us with a source for this, then? Admiral J. Nebulax 22:36, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)
  • Labyrinth of Evil specifically states that Palpatine committed 200,000 of the Coruscant clonetrooper detachment to the Outer Rim Sieges, and I believe Organa wonders how he can justify sending half of the Coruscant detachment. Kuralyov 22:45, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)
    • Ah...I love the totally illogical clone numbers in Star Wars. :) QuentinGeorge 22:46, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)
  • Labyrinth of Evil only has a scene where Palpatine commits "an additional 200,000 clone troopers to the Outer Rim Sieges". This constant belief that Palpatine initially deployed only 200,000 troops is complete non-canon and false. In fact, the New Essential Chronology states that Palpatine committed nearly every fleet element and troop carrier to the Outer Rim campaign at the start. As we know, the Republic fleet numbers millions of warships, and every troop carrier would certainly constitute a hell of a lot more than a paltry 200,000 troops. What can be said is that near the final days of the Sieges, after they had gone on for five months, Palpatine sent in an additional 200,000 troops to Saleucami, Mygeeto, and Felucia - his "triad of evil" - to eliminate the major threats there.--Sharkey 06:18, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
