Gah. There seems to be some visual inconsistency between movies. This Palace Courtyard fronts the Royal Palace, having taken the place of the Palace Plaza, as seen in Episode I (Amidala looks down on this from the window during the invasion of Theed). However, when we see Theed again in the DVD release of Episode VI, the Palace Plaza is back, with no sign of the courtyard. (And if you look closely at the courtyard image in Inside the Worlds, a shadow from one of the towers falls on the front of the Palace, so it's not a perspective thing). Also, Episode III shows the Theed Hangar to the right of the palace, above Theed Spaceport, yet in Inside the Worlds of Episode I, it's on the left. Ugh - Kwenn 16:23, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Yeah, that's what happens when Lucas copies and pastes scenes like that. :( AdamwankenobiTalk to me! My home. 16:32, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
  • The Official SW Fact File implies both Plazas were around at the same time, and that this one was around prior to the Battle of Naboo. Maybe that big building at the back isn't the Palace? - Kwenn 17:35, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi Kwenn and others. I’m new to Wookiepedia (and all wikis for that matter) – I’d appreciate any advice. I was the one who created this article and it’s nice to see that it’s been “expanded” so well. I must insist that the word is spelt “severely”. I even checked that it wasn't "severly" in American English. Ha ha. ;) The apparent inconsistencies over which structures were where and what is interesting. If I found out more I will contribute. Cheers. Merbabu

Exact positionEdit

I have literally just idscovered the exact position of the Palace Plaza, it's not exactly in front of the place, but slightly too the side. This would allow for the extra footage in ROTJ to fit in. Here's a diagram:

This allows the Palace Courtyard to fit into the city, without any contradictions. Futher proof is in this image:

If you look at the Royal Palace in the background, you can see that it is at an angle. Darth Abeonis Sith Council (Sith Campaign) 22:01, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
  • Unfortunately, you diagram isn't available anymore, but I would have liked to see it. Can you please put it somewhere again? LelalMekha 14:40, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
