Smoking spice
Edit
You're kidding, right? What spice have you been smoking?...Wait, is spice even smoked? -- SFH 21:24, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- As silly as it is, there's lots of good reasons for having a page on pants, from the placement of Corellian Bloodstripes, to the Chewbacca controversy already mentioned, to the popular game of replacing one word in any famous Star Wars line with the word "pants" (a game that Dark Spork has turned into a nice line of icons). jSarek 21:29, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Main quote
Edit
I've just done a quick review of my library and come up with some potential main quotes:
- "I feel naked. Like I'm in one of those nightmares when you show up for something important and suddenly realize you forgot your pants."
- ―Han Solo
- "I like some things about you. I like the way your pants fit."
- ―Leia Organa
- "In short, they caught you with your pants down."
- ―Hortel Ossilege
- "Stop fiddling with your pants, Raith. It's unseemly."
- ―Wilhuff Tarkin
These seemed like the best of the actual dialogue appearances of "pants." There are tons of narrative references, but those obviously aren't quotable. Any other suggestions? -- Darth Culator 21:00, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Move to trousers
Edit
As much as i repsect Wiki policy on using US English, shouldn't we move this to trousers? I mean, "trousers" means the same in both US English, and UK English. it's the only name sutable for the article. Darth Abeonis Sith Council (Sith Campaign) 20:21, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- You're ignoring all the options for the main quote. You're ignoring the Vote For Deletion that this page survived under this name and the fact that the issue of renaming it to trousers never came up during that rather heated debate. You're ignoring all the direct references to pants in Star Wars media. You're ignoring the fact that the "behind the scenes" issue is about the Wookiee having no "pants." This page stays at pants if I have to randomly lock things, ban people, and hire hit-men to keep it here. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(TINC) 20:31, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

- Hmm, I think it should be moved to trousers, after all, the Wikipedias in different languages don’t call their articles on “Blinds”, “Blinds”, they call it what every it is in their language. And this is really an English Wiki, I think. Besides which Pants means something quite different in England then it does in America, and as Jasca said trousers means to same thing. And can't pants be changed to trousers in the article as well? - Kingpin13Cantina Battle Ground 08:37, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Since Star Wars is made in the United States, Wookieepedia is an American English wiki. Read the quotes - they all say "pants," not "trousers." jSarek 10:02, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, I didn't know that it was an American English wiki. But I'm afraid I still disagree. Trousers means the same thing in America as in England right? Cause pants doesn't mean trousers in English. Personally I think that just because the quotes say pants isn't a good reason, for example, just because the clones call Coruscant Triple Zero, doesn't mean that the article is called Triple Zero, Triple Zero is just what some people call Coruscant. Now I'm picking a fight with an adminastror ;) - Kingpin13Cantina Battle Ground 11:35, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- So you're saying we should move this article, which now has a title that's used in an official source, to a title not used in any official source? --Jedimca0(Do or Do Not, There is No Try) 11:44, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Err... Nah. I was wrong then :(. Could you tell me how to make a redirect please so I can make Trousers Redirect to here? or could you do it for me. Thanks. Kingpin13Cantina Battle Ground 11:49, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Just start a new page titled "Trousers" with the text #REDIRECT [[Pants]] {{R from alternate name}} — or don't, because I did it for you. 8) —Silly Dan (talk) 12:08, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
