- What is its size? And can we get a picture? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
17:39, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'll get a picture up... has to be replace soon though cause my scanner is really looking to good. ---Razzy1319 17:42, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

- Yeah. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
Wow. Wonder how powerful it is... (for categorization purposes...) VT-16 18:11, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say it seems to be a Star Dreadnought. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
18:11, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Ah. has any additional info been given about it other than that is belongs to the resurgent Empire? VT-16 18:12, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think so. And I just took a guess with that; for all I know, it could be a much smaller Super Star Destroyer. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- the blurb only says "The sleeker outline offers less of a target for the command section and greater shield protection. Its weapon systems and fighter components are unmatched in the galaxy." Ofcourse weve all heard that before. --Razzy1319 18:15, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- So it could be a Star Dreadnought. And don't remove what VT-16 and I said. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
18:16, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, sounds reasonably conclusive. So it's the big slugger for that era, then? 8) Had a feeling Pellaeon would be honored like this. He seems to be on his way to becoming quite a respectable military man in the Legacy era. Only 97 years young! ;P VT-16 19:49, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- So it could be a Star Dreadnought. And don't remove what VT-16 and I said. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
For all we know he's still alive when the Sith-Imperial War breaks out. Older than God himself. -- SFH 19:54, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- It'd be nice to see him in charge of the Imperials during the Sith-Imperial War. I always liked him better on the Empire's side. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- There's Duke Teta in ROTS, he was over 300 at the time. But with extensive health treatments though, not natural. VT-16 21:17, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- And if he could have reached 300, Pellaeon, with the advanced technology that most certainly existed, could probably have reached at least 200... Maybe he'll be in one of the issues as an advisor or something. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
21:20, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- He would appear to have more resources and wealth at his disposal, than a single duke from one system, so it's not impossible. Btw, if info comes out to verify whether or not the Pellaeon-class is the most powerful ships of their fleet, is it ok if we use the more formal term "Star Dreadnought" in the title, for continuity with the previous eras (Republic with Mandator and Empire with Executor and Eclipse)? Then, of course, using the other term interchangably in the article like we do now. VT-16 21:31, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

- Edit: I see, it said "unmatched in the galaxy". Well, that clinches it for me. VT-16 21:32, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Besides, I'm already calling it the Pellaeon-class Star Dreadnought. ;) Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
21:32, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'll move it, put in clarification and use SSD the rest of the way. That ought to make everyone happy. ;) VT-16 21:33, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Class or ship
Edit
Ignorance plea: Is this a ship named Pellaeon that we've made up a class around, or is it introduced as a ship class? Or both? --SparqMan 05:46, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- "At the heart of the Imperial Fleet is the Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer. Built at the Kuat Drive Yards, these are the next generation of Imperial Star Destroyers."
- So it's a class of SSDs. Thanos6 05:54, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- However, the top of the page identifies it as "Pellaeon-class super star destroyer." Kuralyov 06:13, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- So, is it a star destroyer or a super star destroyer? I don't have the issue, so I can only go by what those who have, say. If its the biggest and most well-armed and an SSD, I suggest moving it back. VT-16 07:07, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's not once called a Star Dreadnaught in the text, so I'm afraid I won't ever be accepting that: if needed, I'll start up a Consensus Track for the issue which may include the Sov and Eclipse, but if needed I'd be happy to move it back to SSD. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 07:12, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Look, ITW:OT and SW:CL were very clear on this, the most powerful SSDs were Star Dreadnoughts. I'm not interested in entertaining McEwok-level speculations, so there is no debating the Sovereign and Eclipse here. They were stated as being the follow-ups to the Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts and that's that. If the Pellaeon-class is stated as being a Super Star Destroyer and the most powerful ship in the fleet, it's a Star Dreadnought, like the biggest ships in the two previous eras. VT-16 07:45, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say no, on the basis that this class were designed more than a hundred years after Executor. Naming conventions can change over time, as we've seen examples of in Betrayal. Therefore we can only call it what it's called in the text. Charlii 08:30, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Having thought about it, I realize you're correct. Only thing is, is it a SD or SSD? VT-16 10:44, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- They call it a Super Star Destroyer. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
11:54, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- See, I buy the Star Dreadnought designation for Eclipse and Sovereign, since we know they were the successors to the Executor-class and they were produced around the same time. But we don't even know the length of the Pellaeon-class. And languages are known to change due to popular stupidity. For all we know, "Star Dreadnought" could have been replaced by "Mambodogfacetothebananapatch." (Obscure Steve Martin reference.) Not only that, but at this point we don't even know if it is the biggest thing in the Fleet.
-- Darth Culator 11:58, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- All good reasons for my concession on the issue. >D VT-16 12:24, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- The text seems to suggest that it is the biggest thing in the fleet. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
11:59, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, but I have to agree this time, its so far removed from everything else, the terminology might actually have changed completely by this time. Even a silly term might become commonplace and accepted as formal, given enough time. Unless, of course, the fleet still has loads of different ship-types, in that case, you need the additional terms to seperate them out. Since we don't know what this era is like, militarily, SSD will have to do. Ok if I change it back to that? VT-16 12:24, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say go for it. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
12:25, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Not this time. I'll wait and see what more have to say on this. And I still want clarification that it's actually called a SSD in the book. VT-16 12:27, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Trust me, it's called the Pellaeon-class Super Star Destroyer. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
12:30, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- I mean no offense, but do you actually have the comic for us to trust you? It's called both the Pellaeon-class Super Star Destroyer and Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer. I moved it to Star Destroyer so as not to annoy the people who say that Super Star Destroyer is simply a slang term. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 12:54, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's not a slang term, but it's used that way and covers more formal designations, in the GCW-era, that is. Might have become a fixed classification for the largest vessels in 140 ABY. I suggest moving it to that, so at least to signify the difference between them and smaller Star Destroyers. VT-16 13:07, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, Jaymach, I have Legacy 0. At the top of the page that has the paragraphs on this ship class and the section on Imperial pilots, it says Pellaeon-class Super Star Destroyer, meaning that that would be the correct name. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

BluePrints
Edit
I dont think that is a blue print of the PSSD --Razzy1319 17:59, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Sure? You're the one who put it up in the first place... ;P VT-16 19:15, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Why else would they put it on one of the two pages with this class? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
20:23, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- I think the blueprint is correct, the bottom image on the page does show the ship from a strange angle. I'm also more and more convinced that all three ships in that image are Pellaeon-class. Charlii 20:27, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- As am I. I don't think there's even a color difference; it's probably a glare due to a nearby star. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- First time I saw it, I thought it was a blueprint of the regular Legacy Era ISD. Compare the blueprint to the Legacy ISDs escorting the Pellaeon and the one "attacking" the Pellaeon. The blueprint looks more like the ISDs than the Pellaeon... Just my opinion though. --Razzy1319 20:54, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

As far as the shot with 3 destroyers in it, the ships are the same one...the two on the bottom left are in the distance.
- That's what I thought, but I'm not so sure now. As for the blueprints, they don't look like the Pellaeon-class anymore, at least to me. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
16:14, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
I actually helped created the blueprints and that one 3d shot of the three ships together. I can't vouch for Dark Horse or what their plans were and are but the blueprints were originally designed for that one ship.
- Really? Thank you for letting us know. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
19:53, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Barring scepticism due to anon posting, I've noticed more and more SW-related officials commenting here lately. Nice. 8)
- On-topic, I had a feeling the rear two were of the same type of ship, but you never know, the Allegiance and Giel's ship look roughly like huge ISDs, so there's precedence for similarities. The blueprints looked pretty similar to the CG art to me, so that wasn't hard to match up. :) VT-16 20:48, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about anon post before...didn't have time to create account (which I see now, doesn't take long at all) :)
I know in the grand scheme of things DH can institute whatever they wish, but when I personally was thinking about the ship, I figured it was just slightly longer than the "Imperial" and obviously a little more mass/girth to it.
- Oh, I see. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
23:50, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
But obviously, it's up to interpretation...:)
- Of course. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
23:56, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm. So in your view it was meant to be more of an ISD-successor than an Executor-successor? But that might have been changed for the final design? (OT: writing four tildes (~) after a post, shows your name.) VT-16 08:28, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- So, if the Pellaeon-class is the Executor-class's successor, we're fine, but if it isn't, then what? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
12:41, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- So, if the Pellaeon-class is the Executor-class's successor, we're fine, but if it isn't, then what? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
Yeah, I dont know what's up. I was surprised to see "Super" Star Destroyer when the mag came out, and I'm wondering if thats a typo in the Header. It is the only reference to "Super" I have ever seen. In my understanding alone, it's a regular Destroyer and all the images present are of that one ship. It was a surprise to know the class name though. That's cool. Madine 14:46, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- You mean you haven't heard of the term Super Star Destroyer before you read Legacy 0? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
14:47, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh no, I mean I hadn't heard the term in relation to this new ship Madine 14:51, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Oh. Well, considering its only source is Legacy 0, we had to go with "Super Star Destroyer". Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
14:53, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah sure. They could have bumped the size up on me. I guess we'll wait and see what the size is in the series. Madine 14:58, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- I hope it stays a Super Star Destroyer... Pellaeon deserves a class of Super Star Destroyer named after him. Just my personal opinion, of course. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
15:01, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'm more comfortable with something designated a "super star destroyer" being more along the lines of the Allegiance, leaving an opening for a real Star Dreadnought class to be introduced and named as such. -- Darth Culator 16:29, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd like this class to be called a Star Dreadnought, actually... Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
20:09, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, if it turns out to be a successor to the Imperial, cool enough. I just wish more sources would make use of other terms for the larger vessels as well, for diversity's sake. There's no harm in "Super Star Destroyer", but it's been used so much already, it's got a head-start of at least 19 years (since ROTJ came out in 1983, and AOTC:ICS with its Star Battlecruiser and Star Dreadnought-terms came out in 2002). ;) VT-16 22:10, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

- Reading the actual issue, it looks almost like the "super" in the page title was an oversight-- it's referred to as a Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer in the actual details and is called the successor to the ISD. I'd say it's similar and size and role to the earlier craft. Also, all the ships seem to be PSDs from different perspectives, not some other class. - 000 03:56, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- Still, the title itself says "Super Star Destroyer". For now, that's how we're going to have it. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Randy confirmed- not a SSD
Edit
Sorry to be brief, but I have to head back to work. Check out my thread on the Galactic Alliance Core Forces over at the JC Forums. Randy confirms that it is not a SSD, but a standard SD. Sorry about not linking you to the page, but I am already five minutes late... :p AdmiralNick22 20:06, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Then why did Star Wars: Legacy 0 call it a Super Star Destroyer? If Legacy 0 said so, it's a SSD, not a SD. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- "the Pellaeon-class should just be listed as a "Star Destroyer" -- not a "Super." John put that in and I forgot to remove it from issue #0". It's an SD - Kwenn 20:08, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, then. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- They also called it an SSD in Insider 89.
- Guess the guy editing the comic itself would be a higher authority in this case. :P VT-16 21:18, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I agree. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Well, at least it is all cleared up now. That is better that we can say about other issues. AdmiralNick22 00:22, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- I still think it was meant to be a Super Star Destroyer since sources say so, but oh well... Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
00:25, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- More likely no one caught the mistake in sources until Randy took notice and put it back to the way it was supposed to. Take heart, Jack. We may yet get a SSD in the Legacy era. :-) AdmiralNick22 00:34, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- I hope we get a Star Dreadnought—perhaps a "Palpatine-class Star Dreadnought"—but I still think of this one as a Super Star Destroyer. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Who's the VIP named "Madine" (the Legacy Concept Artist) who says that he envisioned the Pellaeon-class to be roughly the same size as ISD-IIs on page 2 of that thread? JimRaynor55 09:04, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- Roughly the same size as ISD-IIs? Interesting. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- The VIP is Sean Cooke, the artist who is designing the Legacy-era warships and fighters. AdmiralNick22 20:28, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- "Is designing"? So we can look forward to more Imperial warships? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Unsure about Imperial ships Jack, but Randy confirmed that Sean is creating several Galactic Alliance designs, including their main battle cruiser and several support ships. I am sure that if they are designing Alliance support ships that the Imps will get some as well. AdmiralNick22 14:23, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I noticed that. Interesting to here about a GA torpedo ship. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Very Clear Image
Edit
Hey, I found this image shack dot U S )/img301/9417/psddo5.jpg very clear version of the Legacy 0 Image at Sean Cooke's homepage. I dunno if you want to put it as a main image or something, I don't normally deal with this page, so choose as you wish, just pointing out a very good main Image quality pic --Sauron18 22:50, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Forces of Corruption
Edit
Ah, is this thing really in FOC? Sounds like fanon to me, or someone who's mistaken it for the Eclipse. .... 11:12, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hopefully the second one. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Because if it is the Pellaeon-class ship...well...Petroglyph will have a hell of a lot of explaining to do. .... 12:10, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's some anon who's been going nuts with the FoC article. I highly doubt there's a Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer in the game. -- I need a name (Complain here) 15:34, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Complement
Edit
The hanger bay in Ready to Die shows Predator class fighters and a Nu-class shuttle. Presumably (?) these are standard--Jeffbacca 21:44, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, right. I'll add those in. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

RW design lineage
Edit
I have a feeling that the Cantwell design for the SD (see Making of SW, p.78) suggested the superstructure of the Pellaeon-class. The resemblance is more keen, including paneling and the forward "antennae", in the renderings in Ready to Die.--Jeffbacca 19:19, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Year Introduced?
Edit
On the Usage Section it says that the "Pellaeon"-class entered service in 130ABY, I think this is wrong because there is no evidence of the Galactic Alliance being unaware of these ships, also most of the ships seem to have 'scratched' and marked paint wich suggests they have been in service for a while. Can anyone confirm or deny this? If not can I remove it from the Usage section? Cipher RC1168
Armament?
Edit
Do we have ANY knowledge of weoponery for the "Pellaeon"-class? Cipher RC1168
- I have check over the Starships of the Galaxy (2007) at least 5 times, and time after time again I see it say that the Pellaeon-class has 5 batteries of heavy turbolasers. In the Saga edition of the SWRPG book it states that you can have no mroe then 10 weapons in one battery. Thus I am baffled why we have the entry saying the Pellaeon has 100 heavy turbolasers. Unless I missed some errata or something not posted in the book, I wish to edit the weapons entry to make it appropriate to the official states. Caamasijedi49
KDY Connection?
Edit
It states that Kuat Drive Yards produced the "Pellaeon"-class. But upto the Galactic Alliance-Confederation War Kuat was still under the Galactic Alliances control. When did the Imperial Remnant retrieve Kuat? Or were they built illegeally by Kuat for the new Empire, although that would be hard considering the numbers that the Empire has. Ciphe 21:04, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Since the Empire was allied with the Galactic Alliance, there should not be any problem with any kind of official production. It is also likely that Kuat was one of the many planets that went neutral or sided with the New Empire when the Alliance fell apart during the Ossus crisis. --Lynata 01:50, 8 June 2010 (GMT)
Interdictor
Edit
Legacy 28 seems to indicate that they also have Interdictor abilities. At least the Iron Sun seems to. —Unsigned comment by 80.109.144.165 (talk • contribs).
Shields?
Edit
Does anyone know how powerful its shields are? under the shielding section it just says "Equipped". Venators 08:37, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Did anyone else notice this?
Edit
From the front the Bridge looks like it came form the Banking Clan Frigate.
