Character? Edit

Having read through the Source article I never saw a single mention of this character and google only gave me rumours, do we have any actual sources for this character? 17:20, May 4, 2015 (UTC) Ser Patrek (talk) 17:22, May 4, 2015 (UTC)
  • Here's a link with a page from the article: [1] --JMM (talk) 17:22, May 4, 2015 (UTC)
    • When I asked the source was the Vanity Fair article but I see it was changed 17:25, May 4, 2015 (UTC)
      • It is from Vanity Fair, but it's from the full print spread, not the online article.--Ser Patrek (talk) 17:30, May 4, 2015 (UTC)

"A female individual"? Really? If it was a man would you have written "A male individual"? 04:05, August 12, 2015 (UTC) ksley

  • Yes, we would have. If you take a look at character articles across the site, stating the character's gender is common practice. Here are two examples from some of my recent status articles: Finis Valorum and Darth Bane. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:10, August 12, 2015 (UTC)

Then maybe it should say she "was a female Stormtrooper Captain in the First Order". Would match those other articles better.-- 17:40, December 22, 2015 (UTC)

Assumed Death Edit

Should we really assume that Phasma died when Starkiller Base was destroyed? Unless her death is explicitly stated in the novelization it seems to me that any assumptions about her death should be kept a bit more neutral until we know for certain (or until we know enough to at least make more educated guesses).--Bombastuss (talk) 00:29, December 19, 2015 (UTC)

  • She did not die. Unless Ms. Kennedy was not being serious, which I highly doubt, she did confirm that Lucasfilm had "big plans" for Captain Phasma and that she would be returning for Episode 8. Hopefully not as a Force ghost. Reddyredcp (talk) 00:31, December 19, 2015 (UTC)
    • Yeah, I was thinking I'd heard something along those lines and thought that the part in the article that mentioned her dying felt really strange. Bombastuss (talk) 00:36, December 19, 2015 (UTC)
      • darth maul coming back alive is canon, so it wouldn't surprise me if she was totally fine.***

Star War's "First Female Villain" Edit

"First female villain" - I was under the impression that Daala, as in Admiral Daala of the Imperial Navy and later Remnant who essentially took over after the tactical genius that was Thrawn, was a woman, as well as Asajj Ventress and Kreia, two female villains who stick out in my mind, but clearly I'm not on the same level as the genius that is Abrams. Maybe she's the first "Canon" female villain, but she's certainly not the first female villain in Star Wars as a whole. ScienceGuy44 (talk) 11:38, January 15, 2016 (UTC)

  • It's in reference to the live action films, which is where public awareness of Star Wars begins and ends. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:37, January 15, 2016 (UTC)
  • Even if we look at only the new canon, Ventress is still part of it and appeared before Phasma.-- 15:20, December 18, 2017 (UTC)

Vanity Fair imageEdit

On Q/A in Comic Con Chile Pablo Hidalgo say

HellK9t (talk) 18:56, May 28, 2017 (UTC)
  • He already said that it was misinterpretated or that it was lost in the translation. The only thing that he confirmed already is that those are books and that hand is luke's on twitter --DarthRuiz30 (talk) 19:00, May 28, 2017 (UTC)
    • He has also said its more BTS than movie here --Lewisr (talk) 19:12, May 28, 2017 (UTC)

The previous shot was better, this one's too from the side. Before we get a look under the Helmet or Phasma inexplicably decides to paint it in TLJ, we should keep the TFA one.--ZapikCZ (talk) 07:54, September 20, 2017 (UTC)

Are we certain she's dead? Did we get confirmation from someone? Because the film leaves her fate pretty ambiguous. If her armor can deflect blaster bolts, then it can presumably also protect her from passing through a fireball as well. »Anonymous ONI agent« [COMMS] [SERVICE RECORD] 07:31, December 16, 2017 (UTC)

  • For now it seems that we should leave it as dead, it seemed pretty difficult to escape that.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 07:32, December 16, 2017 (UTC)
As far as the official line goes, the answer seems to be 'maybe'. I'd avoid saying anything definitive about whether she's alive, at least for the moment. The Millionth One (talk) 12:58, December 18, 2017 (UTC)

Main Image Vote Edit

Hey everybody, I was just curious what everyone thought about the current infobox image for Phasma because I think that it seems a little bit off and the texturing on the armor doesn't seem very representative of the shiny quality of her actual armor. So, much like what is going on on Talk:Mitth'raw'nuruodo, I thought I'd start a vote to see if anyone else wishes to change the profile image. The three options I have come up with are in the gallery below. My personal opinion is for option 2 as I think it is very representative of the armor and is a very good image for the infobox as it is similar to other images being used for the inboxes of other characters. What does everyone else think? Also if you have any other suggestions please feel free to add them to the vote.--Benjay2345 (talk) 07:08, December 31, 2017 (UTC)

Update: In support of Option 2, as Toprawa and Raltir specified in his vote below, this image of Phasma is representative of her most recent appearance which has always been strived for on this wiki.--Benjay2345 (talk) 23:17, January 12, 2018 (UTC)

Update 2: Another point made in support of Option 2 by DarthRuiz30 was that the Visual Dictionary mentions that Phasma's armor was recently polished. This lends towards the fact that her shiny armor is more representative of her most recent chronological appearance.--Benjay2345 (talk) 03:48, January 13, 2018 (UTC)

Update 3: We are 1 vote for Option 2 away from this consensus being closed. --Benjay2345 (talk) 05:23, January 14, 2018 (UTC)

Update 4: Alright, everybody, with Brules' vote Option 2 has won, passing with a 5:2 ratio. --Benjay2345 (talk) 05:37, January 14, 2018 (UTC)

  • I think an administrator needs to close the voting, not the user.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 05:41, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
    • I've reverted it back for now and asked the IRC about this. We'll see what the answer is.--Benjay2345 (talk) 05:45, January 14, 2018 (UTC)

  6. The point of Image 1 is to show Phasma with dirty armor, since that's how most (all?) of the TFA promotional material depicted her character. This is different from The Last Jedi promo material, which shows her with squeaky clean armor. If we're truly going to honor the "most recent" image, this is the correct choice. Plus, Image 1 is technically unsourced, since the uploader didn't provide a specific enough URL. That image could be deleted right now, rendering this whole vote moot.
