The only source provided, The Essential Guide to Droids does not anywhere contain the words "Plasma thrower". The SD-10 is described as having a "Plasma-burst Cannon", identical wording to the SD-9. The article for SD-9 more appropriately links this to Plasma cannon/Legends.
