Concerning the Behind the scenes section in this article
Edit
I know the databank has a b&w photo of an Aqualish with cup-shaped hands, but that is not Ponda Baba. That is actually an Aqualish character from the Star Wars Holiday special. Here's a pic of the other Aqualish from the Holiday Special. The Databank is wrong.--Brian 22:48, 29 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- I noticed that Ponda Baba's jacket sleeves extended all the way down to the wrist, but on the other character the cut-off at the elbo.--Darth Oblivion 01:16, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Survival
Edit
According to the databank, he survived the mind-transfer and is still at large. Does anyone know the rationale behind resurrecting such a minor background character off-screen? Lieutenant Gerard 21:52, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Wasn't it the senator who survived in Ponda Baba's body?--Darth Oblivion 01:17, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

- "As of five years after the Battle of Endor, Evazan was amazingly still at large. Baba somehow survived the transfer process, presumably in the Senator's body. Reports indicated that at the time he was once again seeking revenge against the "good" Doctor." That's from Evazan's entry in the Databank. I think it's completely idiotic, but apparently City of the Dead and "Dr. Death" weren't the end for them. Does anyone have any ideas why the folks at LFL would choose to use a Web site to resurrect two background characters who were killed off in non-contradictory literature and who haven't appeared since? Arm
Edit
Why is there blood on his arm when it was cut off(Lightsabers are made so it doesn't do that)? —Unsigned comment by 64.131.14.221 (talk • contribs).
Maybe because it was the first movie, the technology of a lightsaber had not been fully developed.
Why does the biography say that "Ponda attacked Luke" that never happened. instead him and Evazan push Luke aside and try to shoot Obi-Wan, where did this thing were Ponda attacked him come from?
Lead quote
Edit
Anybody got a source for "Negola dewaghi wool dugger" as the Ponda quote? I'm reading Galaxy Guide 7: Mos Eisley, which gives the transliteration as "Neggrh ghogola woldewa!" or «I don't like your face. Want to fight?» Enochf 12:12, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know the answer to that, but according to "Play it Again, Figrin D'an: The Tale of Muftak and Kabe" (Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina), Ponda's translated line is, «Out of my way, human excrement!» Of course, it may have been retranslated by a more recent source. Also according to Tales, Greedo speaks Rodian and doesn't understand Huttese, so I don't know how reliable it is about its languages and translations. -BaronGrackle 13:52, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- In my copy of the ANH novel and in the Revised Forth Draft, wooldugger is one word. Darth Morrt 21:01, August 16, 2010 (UTC)
Ponda or Evazan
Edit
I could have sworn that Dr. Evazan is the one who attacked Luke and is the one who pulled his blaster on Ben. Then when Ben swung his lightsaber, Ponda's served arm was laying on the floor. Any thoughts?
