Name
Edit
"Braniac" was copyright Superman even before this movie came out. Fans gave him that nickname. His real name is unknown, but the crew used the name "Brainee" for him. Could someone change this? —Unsigned comment by 67.163.29.119 (talk • contribs).
- Edit: I did. But fell free to change it back if you can find evidence to the contrary. —Unsigned comment by Rodtheanimegod4ever (talk • contribs).
- The Customizable card game goes by Braniac. Which I would assume would make it official as Braniac. CBenoit 00:11, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- [1] You are correct, sir. Even if his production nickname was Brainee, his canonical name, per the CCG, is Brainiac. —Darth Culator (talk) 00:15, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- That card REALLY looks fake to me. There's even a math problem on it! Besides, Star Wars Chronicles calls him Brainee User:Rodtheanimegod4ever
- The card image is served directly from decipher.com, which means it cannot be fake. Decipher named a huge number of obscure characters with their Star Wars Customizable Card Game, and those names and character descriptions are 100% official. You can put a note about his production nickname in the "Behind the scenes" section, but the character is officially named Brainiac. —Darth Culator (talk) 00:29, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- From the official site's "Cantina Roll Call" article here: Another alien from Rick Baker's crew, this giant-headed specimen was known on set as "Brainee," "Cranium Head" and "Crater Head." He was never given a specific name until 1995, when he was dubbed Braniac, which according to lore is apparently just a nickname. Seems to me his real name is unknown, but Braniac (CCG) and Brainee (Chronicles) are both nicknames. — Silly Dan 00:27, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- Well, starwars.com says Brainee, as stated by Dan, was LucasFilm's name for him. This is just a guess, but I'm pretty sure starwars.com overrides Decipher. Rod
- Whoops, sorry. I just looked over it again, and they mentioned that Decipher named a lot of their aliens. (In surfer voice) Sorry for the bad vibes, admin dudes. (end surfer voice). User:Rodtheanimegod4ever
- No problem. Neither Darth Culator not I are admins, though. 8) I am curious, however: is Brainee mentioned in Chronicles as a "production nickname" or as an in-universe character name? Like I say, both might be valid, but if Braniac is the only name used in-universe, that's where we have to keep the article. — Silly Dan 00:47, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- It said they called him that during production, not specifically "production nickname" Rod

Does any source state that Pons Limbic is the same Siniteen as in the Holiday Special or are they separate characters? Rokkur Shen (talk) 06:55, March 2, 2013 (UTC)
