Where does this picture come from? It looks a bit different than the way the Preybird is portrayed in other sources. JimRaynor55 07:12, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Star Wars Gamer #4, apparently. Though I don't know why it's mirrored like that. I just put up that Specter of the Past cover scan that the anon tried to link, since it matches the X-Wing Alliance model perfectly and that's the only other visual representation of the Preybird that I'm aware of. —Darth Culator (talk) 15:40, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- "Only visual representation"? I think there's more, but I'm not sure. Admiral J. Nebulax 21:10, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- That's why I said the it's the only other one I'm aware of. A quick search of CUSWE and Korpil's SWRPG Index indicates that it's also described in The Last Command Sourcebook, the The Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook and The Far Orbit Project, but I don't have those three yet. —Darth Culator (talk) 21:53, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps there is a good image there. Admiral J. Nebulax 22:18, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I just checked the Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook; a little more info, and the image is the source for the picture on the back of Specter of the Past. This isn't the only place that there are inconsistencies like this in Gamer, though.... --McEwok 00:33, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- What information is in the book that isn't in the article? Admiral J. Nebulax 00:35, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- The brief production run is dated "nearly a decade" before the Thrawn trilogy, so "a few years before Endor" might be better than than "shortly before", plus the detailed stats for Mazzic's upgraded pair, including a length of 21m, bigger than most snubfighters, which is likely to be valid for all the ships. Additional to this, we have two further versions in one single source: the Last Command comic adaption includes the ships that arrive with Mazzic at Hijarna and then take down Ferrier, identified as Raptor and Skyclaw in the novel... only it shows them different from every other Preybird rendition, and from each other: arriving here, in action here. --McEwok 01:11, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Interesting... Admiral J. Nebulax 21:13, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Prey Bird vs. Bird of Prey[]
Is it safe to say that these ships were based on or at least heavily influenced by the Klingon Birds of Prey in Star Trek? I mean, they're very similar in size and offensive capabilities, design, and even color. Plus the name is doubtlessly not a cooincidence.Darth Ceratis 17:40, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- It seems likely, but I don't know. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 17:59, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Seems verrrrrry likely. Can we say it's "probably" based on the Bird of Prey in the article?"Darth Ceratis 00:58, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Not "probably"; "may be". Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 01:32, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Okay. "May be" works for me.Darth Ceratis 19:13, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- I don't want to get a big paragraph on Star Trek in the article, so that's why I chose "May be". Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 21:32, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- I get you. I just put a little tiny paragraph acknowleging it. I just figured the similarity is just too close to ignore.Darth Ceratis 01:02, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
