  • Is there a source for either claim? If both are canon, then we should have a Behind the Scenes pointing out the contradiction; otherwise, anything non-canon should be deleted.
    • I got one-o-dem fancy official Galaxy Maps I printed out for referencing in a mod I'm working on. On the map, Qiilura appears as the same dot as Ord Mantell does (as in, they're very close together, it does this with Trandosha and Kashyyyk as well as with Nal Hutta and Nar Shadaa). Anyway, If we're going by the map, it's near Qiilura. Though I seem to remember them mentioning in-book that it is in the Tingel Arm, now that you mention it, though I could be wrong. Totally IMPOSSIBLE! Edit

Qiilura produces 50% of the galaxies luxury food and beverages! Thats impossible, to say the least! The Empire at its height it controlled 60 million inhabited worlds; So if each one consumed 8000 tons of luxury food and beverages a year (all things being equal) then Qiiluras' anual out-put would be a stagering 480,000,000,000 (that is 480 billion) tons a year! I think maybe that figure is wrong? In any case such a vast monopoly on a market like that is almost as impossible.

• I think Karen Traviss might have some odd numbers going on here, but, in Hard Contact (pg.19) Jedi master Arligan Zey tells the Commandos: "They produce barq, kushayan and fifty percent of the luxury foodstuffs and beverages in the galaxy." Saddestwookiee 04:43, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

    • Could be just an exaggeration, or could be referring to those specific types of luxury foods, or it could mean that they're used as very small parts of mixed luxury foods. • I took the liberty to change "50%" to something more vague, as it is unclear whether Zey meant 50% of everything (which would be near impossible), 50% of TYPES (which would be more possible but we don't have any evidence that's what he meant and indication is that almost ALL export is barq), or simply exaggerating for effect (which seems more likely) -- Darth NWNN 23:54, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Contradicting Logic Edit

• Ah but I just put it back up because its location conflicts in the galaxy. Qiilura is given as being in the Mid Rim, however the Qiilura sector, which it is in, is said to be in the Tingel Arm (Outer Rim/Wild Space). The Essential Atlas places Qiilura in the Mid Rim, at the boundary of K-7 and K-8, and within the same dot as Ord Mantell. As it is stated to be 40 light years from Ord Mantell, this makes sense, but if it shares the same dot on the map, it would have to be 40 light years above or below Ord Mantell. Either way, it shows that there is clearly conflict with its sector location, and the recently released map of the Outer Rim sectors shows no sector named Qiilura. We are still waiting on a map of Mid Rim sectors that would override existing canon that Qiilura sector is in the Tingel Arm. -- Riffsyphon1024 17:50, February 4, 2010 (UTC)
