[edit] R2-D1

Is there any validity to this "R2-D1" thing? If not, the article needs to be changed back; but if so, it needs to be moved. -- Ozzel 18:21, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Nice little confusion, if the TPM screenplay names it, then it's the canonical name (callsign, if you prefer it that way). - TopAce 18:23, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
    • I'm curious because the person who changed the article to R2-D1 seems to be the same user who is adding nonense right now. But this change was done months ago. Anyway, I checked Episode I: The Visual Dictionary, but didn't see anything. However, after some Googling, it looks like it is actually R2-M5, because there was an action figure made of this droid with that name. I'm going to change it back. -- Ozzel 18:38, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
      • Wait, nevermind...that was a different user. I'm confused. -- Ozzel 18:40, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Okay, it looks like it was 69.199.61.112. They changed the names of several droids a few days ago. However, it was probably just vandalism, in which case all of his edits need to be reverted. -- Ozzel 18:44, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
    • I think R2-D1 and R2-M5 are completely two different astromechs, because at Red6 they say R2-D1 died when fixing the queen's ship. Then a droid looking like R2-D1 appeared after his death. Gonk123 File:Gnkst.jpg (verobrain) 22:39, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
