whats this?Edit

What's this? -- Riffsyphon1024 21:37, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Vandalism on the title of a real article. Should probably block 156.34.245.8. --SparqMan 22:01, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Galactic BattlegroundsEdit

Galactic Battlegrounds shows these droids in use by the Republic during the first year of the Clone Wars. How can this be explained? Should it just be a continuity error?JustinGann 21:23, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Perhaps we should call them "RA-6"s. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem.svg 22:21, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Hmm, they could be the 3PX, which was around long before the CW acc to NEGTD. The game just calls them "data droid."JustinGann 14:43, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Still should call them "RA-6"s. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem.svg 14:48, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
        • We don't know how long a model number runs. Back in the time of the Clone Wars (around 20 years) they could be RA-3s or RA-4s. Do we even have any in-universe sources as to whether the preceding model was even called 'RA'?Tocneppil 07:16, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
          • I don't think any other designation would make sense. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem.svg 12:19, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
            • True, but you could run the risk of something similar to the 'Corellian gunship'/'DP-20' debate conflict occurring without an In-universe source to back you up.Tocneppil 06:44, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
              • This is different. We have the RA-7 designation, instead of no designation. I'm just saying that it's very likely that there were RA-1s through RA-6s before the RA-7. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem.svg 12:23, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
                • But it's non-canon. That's why the fan-made OG-10 designation was removed from the heavy homing spider droid. It should just be mentioned that possibly an early version of the droid was around during the Clone Wars - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 12:39, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
                  • I know it's non-canon, but it's possible. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem.svg 21:54, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
                    • But it needs a canon source. We could take the liberty to name the droid, but since we aren't Lucasfilm employees, that name wouldn't be any more 'official' than the 'OG-10' or 'DP-20'.Tocneppil 07:31, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
                      • It would be conjecture. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem.svg 12:09, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
                        • Conjecture by us -fans. Without a canon source to back it up, it would take away from Wookieepedia's image as a source of 'encyclopedic reference' based on canon sources. It would also start a petition by all those others who would want their own entries put in based on the same reasoning. Who's to say there aren't astromech droids with letters preceding the 'R', 'P', 'Q' -series? Should we make entries for those? What about 'F-wings'? or 'O-wings'? Should we create entries for them? They're in the alphabet preceding the X-wing.Tocneppil 19:46, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Lol, well the new Clone Wars movies and cartoons have made it quite clear the RA-7 is around in the CW era, so I guess its not a problem to have it appear in that era in Galactic Battlegrounds!JustinGann 10:47, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Source for "Death Star Droid"Edit

If memory serves me correctly, the nickname and its origin is explicitly stated in The Essential Guide to Droids. Unsigned comment by 74.127.239.30 (talk • contribs).

NPOVEdit

This article is very harsh on the RA-7. It's described as "failing in almost every aspect", "not particularly useful", and "nigh useless". Are these criticisms backed up by canon sources? Just because it wasn't exactly like the 3PO series and had a "stern" personality doesn't mean it's useless. 68.40.151.199 07:19, January 30, 2011 (UTC)
