[edit] Appearances

She is so far, in both issues. Lonnyd 12:03, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Yes, but when referencing a comic series, as a rule we cite the Story Arc only, not each individual issue. See Wookieepedia:Layout Guide. --Azizlight 12:33, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
    • That was my point. Lonnyd 12:51, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
      • I separated the issues to clarify that she was only identified as Raana Tey in the second. - Sikon [Talk] 05:59, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
        • Is the distinction (and that BTS section) really neccessary? Does Bib Fortuna need a BTS stating "He didn't get a name til he became an action figure?" Lonnyd 05:14, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
          • To me the BTS section seems really superfluous. What's the point of having a BTS section just to have BTS? I mean we could the same thing for almost every character in the KOTOR comics series except for Shad, Zayne, and Lucien if we wanted to--but how important is that information, really? Especially considering that before too long Commencement will be available primarily as a TPB with all the comics in the story arc collected together. - Breathesgelatin 07:25, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
            • I removed the BTS. But I left a few days for objection, and there was none, so I went ahead. If I stepped on anyone's toes, feel free to revert. Lonnyd 07:10, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Turning into a bad guy

Shouldn't we be having Raana as a Dark Jedi? Like putting in the categories "Fallen Jedi" and "Dark Jedi", with a Dark Jedi info box for her source? I have a strong feeling that she's falling over to the dark side, despite of what "good" she's trying to bring to the galaxy by killing Zayne. Raana did try to kill him unarmed the first time at the Tower and now she's failed another chance in the Lower City. I know my characters, dudes! Trust me. - Will Karner 6:00 P.M., 12 November 2007

No. Not yet, anyway. She IS going completely insane at a frightening pace, but until it becomes canon, she's not a fallen Jedi. Who knows? Maybe she'll be the one that confesses.Astrid 23:14, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Nice opinion, dude, but didn't you see her vision? She dies on Taris, remember? I have a very good explanation for how that will happen:

Raana disarms Zayne in the end of their duel and before she could kill him, Shel interferes saying that Zayne must be brought to Coruscant for judgment. Raana spits out that Zayne was Shad's "murderer" and he should receive permanent punishment. Shel, losing faith to believe her, retorts that killing defenseless prisoners was not the Jedi way. Raana didn't care anymore and prepares for her victorious strike. But Shel suddenly picks up Zayne's lightsaber and with a yell of "NOOOO!" she cleaves Raana in half from behind the chest.

Sorry for familiar details, but i don't know how to put it that way. And also, Q'Anilia will be the confessor. What do you think? - Will Karner 4:33 P.M., 15 November 2007

I'm sorry, but I still disagree. We're only up to, what, the 22 issue? I'm certain that we'll be seeing Taris many more times in future issues. I believe that JJM said something in the Dark Horse forums along the lines of "Don't jump to conclusions" or something like that when a fan stated that Raana was apparently going to die. I do indeed believe that Shel will not kill Zayne, and perhaps that is when Raana goes nuts. For some reason, she reminds me of Shakespeare's character Ophelia--you know, a tragic character. Not right in the head, but tragic nevertheless.

It seems that a majority of KOTOR comics readers believe that Q'Anilia will be the confessor. I must be the only person in the world who thinks it's Raana. Looking back to the beginning of issue 16, we see her crying as she says "The one who confesses lives." It might just be for dramatic effect, but it stuck out to me for some reason. But hey, we always stick up for the characters we like, don't we? Astrid 22:24, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Whoa! You're very good at Shakespeare. Very good. But if you must know that in issue #5, Raana's death vision comes first. Next there's Feln, Xamar, and finally Q'Anilia. But Lucien never gets a vision of his death. If Zayne survives the 1st Jedi Purge, he would be 31 years old. I wish that the confessor would just spit it out soon. I can't wait anymore because of those stupid delays. - Will Karner 6:17 P.M., 18 November 2007

Huh. When you reminded me of issue five, I flipped back to it and studied the page. It would appear that Raana is holding two lightsabers- one green, one blue. There is also a hooded figure weilding a green lightsaber...I'm not quite sure who it is, though. After that, I went to issue 22- Raana's only holding one lightsaber, and it's green. And thus, my nerdtastic research skills finally come in handy. Astrid 23:56, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Good point. But who is the hooded character? The Revanchist? Q'Anilia? Could it be that Raana has a thing for Jar'Kai, like Shaak Ti? Maybe she took the blue lightsaber from a dead Crusader and hid it under her robes. - Will Karner 9:35 A.M., 19 November 2007

I'm not quite sure who it was, but I'm just going to go with my gut feeling here and say it's Revan. There was no skirt, so I doubt it was Q'Anilia. But I can't be too sure.Astrid 22:11, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

You know what, dudes? I have a feeling that Raana's really turning to the dark side. Her lying puts her deeper and deeper into "Scarness," if you get my idea. If insane is what you're saying about her, then she's becoming insanely evil. Believe me. I know the differences between evil and insanity. - Will Karner 10:36 P.M., 1 December 2007

[edit] Revan kills Raana?

That idea of yours gave me a very good idea: Perhaps if Revan had sensed the Covenant trying to prevent the Sith's return, he wants to put them out of the way so he and Malak could find the Star Forge. It would assume that the five Jedi Masters have chased down the wrong man the whole time. Maybe after when Raana is defeated, the Crusaders could offer Zayne a chance to to clear his name by joining them to fight both the Mandalorians and the Covenant.

Oh boy, I can't believe I would think that poor Zayne would a part of a Sith plot. Imagine Revan and Malak proving the Covenant wrong about Zayne by showing that they were the Sith, not him! Man, this is too much for me to handle. - Will Karner 2:11 P.M., 20 November 2007

I'VE GOT IT! ...I think I do, anyway. After reading issue 23, I believe I can get a good idea of how Raana dies. It is most unfortunate that she will more than likely die in issue 24--oh, how I mourn!--but I believe I know how things progress.

SPOILERS AHOY! Please do not read below this line unless you have read issue 23.

...Okay, so we know that Raana teaches Shel how to construct a lightsaber at the end of issue 23, right? Well, it just so happens that Shad's lightsaber crystal (now in Shel's possession) is blue. In issue 5, Raana weilds a blue and green lighsaber--methinks this is not a coincidence. Perhaps Raana will grow agitated with Shel somehow and snatch it away from her? Only time will tell.

SPOILERS END.

...So, what do I win? Astrid 04:09, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

  • This is what you win. Seriously. You need to stop posting such speculative bullshit on talk pages. No matter how obvious it is. No matter what you think. No matter who's talk page it is. All speculation needs to stay off it. I'm tired of seeing your shit on every talk page you grace yourself with.--Redemption(Talk) 04:27, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

I apologize for vexing you, but I would appreciate it if you could be a bit more polite. I shall try and cut back on my personal opinions, and could even go back and delete whatever I have posted that is considered unacceptable. All I ask is that you be a bit more humane. Astrid 04:38, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey dudes! I just found something about Raana's attacker in her vision. If you look closely, there are two long things appearing from the hood. It's almost as if Kreia was on the scene. We do know that by the looks of it, Kreia hasn't been seen in a while. Perhaps the vision means that Kreia becomes Zayne's savior after killing Raana. It just has to be! - Will Karner 3:48 P.M., 2 December 2007

[edit] I Just Need To Say This

In the pic of Tey and Shel in issue 21 (burning scene) doesn't Tey look like Kreia. I know that isn't true now because I've seen her unmasked human and white, but it's still interesting to note.--...Darth 'ric (Nov. 22)

Nice fact, man or madame, but don't forget that Raana's a Togruta and Kreia's an Arkanian. Plus, the burning vision is in issue #5, not #21. Well I have to admit, I'd like Kreia to appear again. Maybe she will close to the end of issue #24. - Will Karner 12:01 P.M., 23 November 2007

Kreia's from the Sith Lords, right? I never got to play KOTOR II because they never made it for Mac... But the similarity was definitely not a coincidence. Isn't it possible for Krynda Draay to be Kreia, though? But we shouldn't be getting too into this topic on Raana Tey's talk page, but it's just an interesting little something to keep in mind as the storyline progresses.Astrid 21:36, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Behind the scenes

I'm removing the JvS section because all that caption says is that they are Jedi who fought in "the Sith Wars." Since this whole period is the Old Sith Wars there's nothing inaccurate about it. Kuralyov 22:03, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

I wondered that Raana would be like Shaak Ti's first deleted death scene at Grievous' feet and I was right! Remember that I put that in months ago? My first prediction of Raana Tey has come true! I suppose you'll have to put it in for me since the page was blocked by my so-called "fanon" in September. HA HA! Big mistake, dudes! *ahem* Sorry about that. 72.87.66.246 00:48, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Nobody said that it wasn't going to happen. We all knew it would be a lightsaber to the back. The problem was that it was speculation. Speculation stays out &mdash no matter how obvious. Case closed. Try not to be an idiot in the future. Thanks. --Redemption(Talk) 04:52, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fallen Jedi?

Should we categorize her as a fallen Jedi? After all, her obssession with hunting down Zayne and her rage indicate she was falling to the dark side.--Gonzalo84 20:03, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

  • There is a difference between fallen/dark side to just plain insanity. Don't confuse them. She never actually fell. She just became mental instable. Not even Zayne suggested she'd fallen. --Redemption(Talk) 20:08, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Raana steals Shaak Ti's first cut death

There is a very good reason why we should put this info into "Behind the Scenes." The Star Wars company has allowed a deleted movie scene to be turned into a real scene (in a comic, that is). For example, look at this:

Similarities: Females of the same species were stabbed from behind by blue lightsabers.

Differences: Shaak Ti was killed from behind in the chest (quick kill), Raana is impaled from behind in the waist (hardly killed her).

You gotta thank George Lucas for allowing this to be put in. He made it 100% legal. 68.228.149.192 03:39, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

  • I have a stance against putting "similarities" anywhere. I doubt that this was a nod to Shaak Ti's death. It stays out. If adds nothing to the article. --Redemption(Talk) 04:10, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
    • Well, actually, I think the guy has a point: Think about it. Raana and Shaak Ti were both Togruta, they were both Jedi Masters, they were both Jedi Consulars, and both even received a stab in the back. However, in her deleted death scene, Shaak Ti knew that she was going to die while Raana, on Taris, was distracted with insanity and never saw it coming. Does that ring a bell somewhere? DarthWill3 16:05, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
      • No. It doesn't. And I'm sick and tired of your utter shit speculation and pointless "notes" polluting the articles and talk pages. --Redemption(Talk) 19:27, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
