Ship class
Edit
If this is a class article, shouldn't it be named something like the Tyrant-class Star Destroyer? This slot should probably be used for the ISD from ESB. JSarek 19:40, 14 May 2005 (UTC)
- I've never heard of this class of Star Destroyer. A quick Google search only yields an RPG created ship class based on an image from Dark Empire. I'm pretty sure that we can delete this, unless you believe Tyrant of Death Squadron fame has enough information to require an article? --SparqMan 22:16, 14 May 2005 (UTC)
- Well, we know a bit about the ship, we know both her captain and first officer, and we know what happened to her in ESB. Probably enough for a short article. JSarek 19:16, 15 May 2005 (UTC)
- Is this ship an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer or an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer? This article says its the former, but the Imperial II-class article specifically refers to this ship as belonging to that class. Based on the images of the vessel, it has the engine baffles of an Impster I, but other than that everything is indicative of an Impster II (command tower, barbette gun mountings, etc.). Is there a source out there which explicitly states one way or another? Thanks for any clarification. Tarvin Calaan 20:57, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry to start this up (again), but I've gone back and looked at the scene from ESB again and apparently somebody at lucasfilms goofed with the ship models in the Ion Cannon scene. I've double and triple checked and the ship shown approaching Hoth before the ion cannon fires (as seen in the infobox picture) is definately a different ship than the one that actually gets hit by the ion cannon. For whatever reason they used two different models for the same scene, this first clearly being an ISD-I and the second clearly being an ISD-II (U can tell easily by looking at the engines both before and after the ion cannon strike as well as a few other differences). I think we should atleast mention this in the Behind the Scenes section. --Tarvin Calaan 05:04, March 23, 2012 (UTC)
- Interesting that they apparently used two different models to represent the same ship. I was told that Star Wars: Complete Cross-Sections confirms all Star Destroyers attacking Hoth were Imperial II-class, which would therefore confirm the Tyrant as such. Can anybody confirm this? - Nevermind, I got confirmation that all it says is that "Class II Star Destroyers made up the fleet which captured the Rebel base on Hoth." That doesn't seem all inclusive, and there were also Victory-class Destroyers as well. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 05:15, December 20, 2012 (UTC)

Merging
Edit
Maybe we could merge both articles under a new article titled "Tyrant / Rebel Dream"? Reignfire 23:47, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, following the lead of the Liberator (Imperial I-class), it should probably all be a single article under Rebel Dream. jSarek 00:33, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, the Emancipator is the same way. Reignfire 04:26, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Not captured in the Bacta War
Edit
The only Imperial capital ships present in the Bacta War were Lusankya, Corrupter, Avarice, and Virulence, plus a few Interdictors Teradoc lent to Isard from time to time. Rebel Dream (or Tyrant) was not there. It must have been captured elsewhere. 82 Airborne 23:19, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- wasn't it written in the encyclopedia that the tyrant was captured near a deep space resupply station shortly after the bacta war? —Unsigned comment by 134.155.99.41 (talk • contribs).
Rename the article
Edit
This article should be renamed after the Tyrant; that was it's official name when in the service of the New Order. It was only christened the "Rebel Dream" after it was stolen by the rebels. I know that there is a considerable amount of Rebel sympathy on Wookieepedia, but let's not allow that bias to manifest itself so fully. Flag-Waving American Patriot 03:11, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- This is how we do it for all captured starships. It goes by the last owner. We have a policy of neutral point of view, so it is not a case of pro-Rebel bias. -LtNOWIS 03:17, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Maybe two Rebel Dreams?
Edit
I think we should not assume that the Rebel Dream recaptured by the Empire and the Rebel Dream during the Vong war, are the same ships. I do not know a source that states they are. Just because they carry the same name doesn't mean it's the same ship. Because if it's the same ship, we still don't know how the Republic got it back. (at least as far as I know) I think it should be mentioned in the article? (There could be two ships with the same name for propaganda reasons^^) Do you agree? - They likely are as in one of the NJO novels(can't remember which atm} Han and Leia have a brief conversation about it being a while since they had seen it. Supreme Emperor (talk) 05:20, December 20, 2012 (UTC)
