Talk:Saak'ak

Wasn't the Saak'ak destroyed in the Battle of Naboo? And if yes, why is it listed as a CIS ship? -- SFH 23:52, 25 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I believe the Saak'ak was in fact the Droid Control Ship, so yes, it would have been destroyed and therefore not a CIS ship. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 23:54, 25 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Removed CIS category and reported it's fate. -- SFH 23:56, 25 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I also changed the link, making it the link for "Droid Control Ship" instead of "Lucrehulk-class battleship". Cmdr. J. Nebulax 17:33, 26 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- In case you hadn't noticed, the Battleship at the start of TPM (the Saak'ak) and the Droid Control Ship at the end are two different vessels (note the larger rear comm array and sensors on the circular arms of the DCS). The Saak'ak leaves Naboo when the blockade disperses, fate unknown - Kwenn
- No, the Saak'ak is the Droid Control Ship. It was destroyed at the battle. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 22:09, 1 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- No, the Saak'ak is Nute's flagship. It features in Cloak of Deception. The Saak'ak and the DCS are two separate vessels. Check Episode I Incredible Cross-Sections. It shows both types of vessel, and the differences between them - Kwenn
- But it doesn't specifically name the ships. Admiral J. Nebulax 00:05, 25 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- No, but I was pointing out that the two types are different. And the Saak'ak is not a Droid Control Ship. It's Nute's flagship, seen at the start of TPM - Kwenn
- Wait, wasn't Nute's flagship at the beginning the Droid Control Ship? Admiral J. Nebulax 00:51, 26 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- No. The DCS has sensor dishes (similar to that of the Falcon) on its ring arms and core, and a larger antennae array at the rear. The Saak'ak is a more streamlined version - Kwenn
- Yeah, I just watched TPM and realized that about two hours ago. Admiral J. Nebulax 22:50, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I thought the two ships were the same for ages after first watching TPM - it doesn't help that Daultay Dofine transfers from the Saak'ak to the DCS unseen, mid-way through the film - Kwenn 22:54, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know. It's very confusing. Admiral J. Nebulax 22:57, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Name clarification
Edit
Saak'ak was originally intended as the name of Nute's flagship from early TPM, but NEGVV accidrntally equated it with the droid cs; I think novels trump refsJustinGann 21:43, 25 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Cloaking Device?
Edit
I'm curious as to what source says that the Saak'ak had a cloaking device. - JMAS 22:12, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Probably fanon, but we might want to leave it in for a little bit to see if it is canon. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
22:13, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- I was wondering if it might be fanon, since other sources state that a cloaking device on a ship that large is impossible to manage, both financially being too expensive and also completely impractical. - JMAS 22:17, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, let's see what we can get. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
23:57, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- I think we've waited long enough. Unless somebody's found a canon source, I suggest we remove it as fanon. Red XIV 07:59, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- Went ahead and removed it. Cull Tremayne 08:46, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
