Tastes
Edit
- "for his tastes were anything but publicly acceptable for an Imperial Moff and ran to non-Human girls"
This may be getting into a weird discussion here, but I've noticed, throughout the trilogy, the nature of his sexual deviancy is never specified. It is only stated that "human females" were not his taste, leaving it unclear whether it was the "human" or the "female" (or either?) that did not arouse his interest. This was intentional - in the Empire, which was both species-ist (specifically human supremacists) and patriarchal, the only acceptable taste for men was supposed to be for human females. Interspecies romance or homosexuality were both considered deviant. This was intentionally a parallel to Nazi Germany - (replace human supremacy with their brand of racism) - where the only acceptable taste for Nazi men was german females - going interracial or homosexual were both considered 'deviant' behavior. Like in the story of Sarn Shild however, there were reports of many Nazis who were 'closet deviants' - preferring interracial or homosexual tastes. (Just a further extension of the Nazi/Empire parallels rife throughout the star wars universe.)
