Related to the Trandoshans?[]

This article claims that the Saurin are a near-Trandoshan species. Durkteel claims that they are a Trandoshan "subspecies". First, where does this notion that there is a relationship come from? Is it from any official sources or just fanon? Secondly, assuming it's from an official source, are they near-Trandoshan or a subspecies of Trandoshan? Personally, I always thought these guys were pretty cool. It's too bad they haven't had more development in the EU. — SavageBob 16:44, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

  • The princple (OOU) motivation is likely that one of the Saurin masks used in ANH was later cannibalized to make the Bossk mask for ESTB. Beyond that, I know not.Dangerdan97 09:04, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
    • I think it's a bit of a stretch. A simple BTS note about the use of the mask for Bossk would suffice instead of fanon. --SparqMan 14:33, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
      • That's my beef. I'd like to see an in-universe source that says the species are related; right now, it seems like someone's speculation. — SavageBob 15:08, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Digits[]

"Related to the Trandoshans of Trandosha, the Saurin shared knobby, scaly skin; broad, flat noses; wide, gaping mouths; and sharp, jagged teeth with their cousins. In contrast, however, the Saurin had five-fingered hands instead of the Trandoshans' four digits. " That's a mistake. Nearly all the Trandoshans seen and all sources agree that they have 3 fingers. • You're right. Thanks for fixing it! ~ SavageBob 15:44, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
    • Four fingers or five. The Trandoshian page says they have 4 fingers.AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 00:30, November 3, 2014 (UTC)
