Okay, from what I can manage from Lords of the Expanse, it seems that the bypass was charted out in approx. 2,203 BBY. The book says that the Giju Passage was discovered in 4,003 BBY, and that the Freeworlds region would remain backwater until the Shapani was routed out 18 centures later, and since 4,003 minus 1,800 is 2,203, that's how I got the year.
