Species or spirit?
Edit
Justin, you seem to be taking the Ewoks cartoon much too literally. If Larry and the Shrieks are real beings, then so is the Leaf Queen. However, currently, we have the Leaf Queen classified as an Ewok deity. Basically, it seems that the Ewoks cartoon is told from the point of view of the Ewoks. That means that there are a lot of spirits and gods and things flying around that, to an outside observer, probably wouldn't be there. I'll watch the episode again, but I think your synopsis added here is reading way more into the Shrieks than one should. — SavageBob 15:01, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
- No, Larry was not one of their spirits. The Shrieks are like the Wizard of Oz. Everyone thought he was a wizard, but he was just the old man behind the curtain playing tricks. Similarly, the Kagles BELIEVED the Shrieks were spirits that haunted the tree. But Wicket and Teebo found "the old man behind the curtain". Larry was just a bipedal, three-eyed sentient being without any supernatural properties. He used the hollow tubes in the tree to amplify and carry his voice, making the tree SEEM haunted. Once the Woklings found Larry, their belief in the haunting STOPPED. He revealed he had runaway from his village as a child, and when he tried to go back home, his tribe had moved away. Larry was a very real, very mortal alien; his species probably is one of the castaways alluded to in GORW, etc.JustinGann 20:03, 9 May 2006 (UTC) :)
