One thing...
Edit
In Battlefront, super battle droids can ride STAPs as well. Shall I put this in, or should we just attribute it to game mechanics? Unit 8311 17:46, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- Are other droids able to fly the STAP's? i.e. droidekas? lol. i would say put it in.
- 8311: Probably game mechanics. I think I remember reading that their hands couldn't grip the steering mechanism well. Norman: No, droidekas can't. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Actually, that does make sense. Their hands dont seem to be designed to use a STAP.
- Or handle a blaster. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Well, looking closely at the STAP's steering arrangment, which looks sort of like a bike handlebar, I suppose a super could handle it...Unit 8311 15:51, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think so. A B2's hand are too bulky and not flexible enough. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- You're probably right. I suppose they could grab onto the thing, but they would have great difficulty steering it. Unit 8311 13:50, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- I think they could pilot the heavy STAP though; I'm trying to think of where I saw that. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- They could? Maybe it was some sort of specially modified version of the STAP, rather than the heavy one. Unit 8311 20:32, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- No, it was the heavy STAP, but unfortunately it's only in fanart. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
20:34, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well then it's obviously not canon. Unit 8311 20:46, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know that. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

VZ-1 Pawnee
Edit
Is it possible that the Single Trooper Aerial Platform was based on the real-life VZ-1 Pawnee? It was an experimental flying platform, which was designed to be piloted by a single soldier. 141.154.179.254 19:39, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Could be. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

SWG
Edit
Galaxies just released their Life Day Celebration with a quest that includes a reconstructed (civilian model) STAP. If any of you play SWG, maybe include a screenshot too. Also, include games that allow players to fly STAPs.
Thanks!
Can be flown by Humanoids?
Edit
In the some of the original Episode I material wasn't it stated that only droids could ride STAPs because of the high amount of heat exhaust from the engines? I know since then many Jedi have flown STAPS and sure I can understand that they could use the force to overcome this problem, but have there been other humanoids that have flown STAPS? - I think in Battlefront II a clone trooper can pilot a STAP (that is, if he's fighting near the vehicle-respawn point when one appears, and grabs it before another battle droid does). But that's probably just game mechanics (especially since clone troopers can also steal (i.e. grab quickly at the respawn point or slice into) droid-brain-controlled vehicles like the Persuader, Hailfire, and Homing Spider. Another thing...
Edit
Why did they have to make the STAPs operated by droids? Why not just make a STAP without the droid? The Awesome X! 04:34, December 24, 2011 (UTC)
So why aren't there blue Pilot Battle Droids operating this? As they seemed to be specialised in machines. Maybe a error from the producers part?
