Old Corellian
Edit
Should there be something about Old Corellian possibly being an influence on the Socorran lanuage? Or even a parent language. I'm going through The Black Sands of Socorro and there's a lot of mention of things taking their names from Old Corellian. Like the entry on the Chiru, or Sand Wasp, states that hives within 30 kilometers of civilization are marked with signs that are in Old Corellian. The signs either read ashoba, Old Corellian for hidden hive, or rha'aid, Old Corellian for danger. Uldyr is the rainy season on Soccoro and it's Old Corellian for mucking out. The very name of the planet is Old Corellian for scorched earth. The Adsila Rift region takes it's name from a character in an Old Corellian myth. On top of that the planet was colonized by Corellians. It seems likely the Socorran language either derived directly from Old Corellian or was influenced by it. - annonymous 12/09/09 8:30 PM
