Talk:StarSpeeder 3000
Back to page
Note: the Star Speeder is discribed in the attraction as a newer vehicle. If TIE Fighter has one, then the ship was released around the time of the Battle of Hoth, when the game takes place.
Warp Drive
Edit
I'm reluctant to put this in, but the description for the StarSpeeder 3000 ride mentions that the StarSpeeder is equipped with Warp Drive. I'm going to put it in but feel free to change it if need be.
From theforce.net/swtc/novels/sotp.html
“Star Tours is proud to introduce the StarSpeeder 3000. The most advanced transport of it's kind in existence. With high speed warp drive and a travel range of over a 1 billion lightyears, the 3000 makes touring the galaxy safe and comfortable. And all our StarSpeeders are piloted by the newest, most reliable RX droids, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the sites. “Whenever your plans call for intergalactic travel, call on the best! Star Tours.”
Warp Drive not a Joke
Edit
I see it was editted out but I'm putting it back in. This isn't a joke that's what the description reads. The Starspeeder3000 has warp drive capabilities like it or not.
- Warp drive is frequently mentioned along with hyperdrive in the old Marvel SW comics, so it's nothing unique to this attraction. :) VT-16 07:10, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- No, it's not a joke, but it does appear to be synonymous with hyperdrive (see this blog or the way it's used in the old Marvel Star Wars comics). jSarek 20:15, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Please note that I made the warp drive comment and changes back in April whereas this blog just came out in past couple of months. I still think Warp Drive exists in the SW universe though. --Anguirus111 04:43, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Appearance in TIE Fighter
Edit
If my memory serves—and it frequently does not—the ship in TIE Fighter was actually a Lambda-class shuttle called "Star Tours," not "StarSpeeder 3000." Anybody remember which mission it was in? Or even which battle? Because I have the TIE game files and can check it relatively quickly, but I ain't checkin' every single one. Gonk (Gonk!) 02:51, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Ya, you're right it is on the game. but I don't recall the ship's name was Star Tours. I think it was on mission 4 or 5, But i can't remember the battle. Sorry, that's all I got.
A ship in the TIE fighter game couldn't be named or given ID as "StarSpeeder 3000". The game could only support up to 8 or 10 character ship names. I can't remember if it was 8 or 10.--212.242.126.216 18:31, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
