Followed byEdit

Should the "followed by" option be added to the infobox, to show what the next issue is? And so people can easily click a link to the next issue in the series? And, should that be added into all the comic pages? --JMM 12:43, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Credits in Behind the scenesEdit

I don't think we need the creator credits in the Behind the scenes section, since they're all in the infobox. --JMM 05:31, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Release date Edit

Where's the source for this release date? Are you telling me that the Star Wars comic came out BEFORE the original Star Wars movie? I thought it was assumed this movie would flop and be nothing but a niche video. How would it already have a comic Amethyst 00:07, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

  • I don't know the source for the March 8 release date, but in the letters column of issue #4, the editor states, "the first couple of issues ... were on sale before the movie actually debuted." For a monthly comic (as Star Wars was), if issue #3 came out the same month as the film—May 1977—then that would put issue #1 sometime in March.

Issue #1 has a cover date of July 1977. Comics sometimes hit the stands before their cover dates, so it could have been on sale in March. However, the other Marvel Star Wars Wookieepedia entries seem to use their cover dates in the infobox rather than their actual release dates (e.g. issue #2 lists August 1977 and issue #3 September 1977). I have no opinion on which system should be used, but it should be consistent. As the entries stand now, it appears as if five months elapsed between issues #1 and #2. • Following up to my own comment (because I love talking to myself), I looked into this article's edit history, and the publication date in the infobox was "July 1977" (in line with the dates for subsequent Marvel issues) until an anonymous user changed it this past February. I've changed it back to match what the publication date in the other Marvel entries represents, but I'm not sure which system is actually correct. Is there a Wookieepedia policy on whether the infobox's publication date should show the date an item lists as its publication date, or the date it actually went on sale? I couldn't find a policy guide for out-of-universe articles (one was proposed, but that proposal didn't address this question). Asithol 10:34, December 13, 2011 (UTC)
