[edit] Stormtroopers = not WWII !!!
The last paragraph is totally wrong, I request to remove the "Nazi" connection and change it to World War 1. While the Imperial officer uniforms surely were based on WWII German Army Officers, there were NO stormtroopers in WW II (Nazi Germany), only in WW I (German Reich/Empire). Here´s a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stormtrooper (Wops 17:08, 30 July 2008 (UTC)) Corrected now. Untill the next person who obiously can´t read removes it again... (Thrasher1978 )
I mostly agree. Strictly speaking, the term "stormtroopers" did come into play during the Nazi years, being attributed as a reference to the S.A. (or "brownshirts") who held a major role in Nazi politics until the Night of Long Knives. However, even this attribution is itself in deference to the sturmtruppen whose tactics were developed by General Oskar von Hutier during World War One and ultimately evolved into the blitzkrieg of World War Two as mechanised forces came to the forefront. Jamessamans 16:22, 10 September 2008 (UTC) Note quite: S.A. stands for "Sturmabteilung" ("Storm battalion") , which only share the word "Sturm" (Storm or Assault) with the original Stormtroopers. SA never was a military fightning force. However, the secion finally is correct, so no more nitpicking - wrong Wikia ;) (Thrasher1978 )
[edit] Gallery Needed?
Do we really need the gallery included in the article? It serves no purpose since there is already a list there. Okay to delete? Darthchristian 19:11, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- The gallery looks quite nice, as it displays the different stormtrooper variants better than the list does. I think that both are needed. --Tom rules 22:16, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
I beleive the gallery should be its own article. If someone dosen't make the article, I will.Da Securaster 01:08, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Battle of Endor
Seriously how the hell do these elite troops lose in that battle despite "superior training?" They lost because they were idiotic and the worst soldiers in the galaxy, how the hell are they even the elite? Yeah right in their arrogance they went separately, even if together they would have fallen. It seems that whenever main characters are involved, these guys become naturally horrible at aiming, and they can hit anything else (Rebels on Tantive IV, Jawas, Owen and Beru). And I doubt Mod Terrik would have shot Han Solo if Davin Felth never shot him, he would have missed in a pathetic manner of some sort. Don't forget that stormtroopers ran away when one man (Solo in case you didn't figure it out) ran at them screaming and blasting his gun (yes one did get shot, but so, they're the elite soldiers of the Empire being pursued by a single man, and had to call Nova Stihl's squad to help them out when a single man was chasing them. Of course I would never edit the page to say so because that would be vandalism, just wanted to say it somewhere.
Possibly this could be farfetched but im gonna say it anyway,All the good ones were killed by Starkiller in 3BBY and 2BBY.Sith-venator 5:43PM 10-10-08
- Order 66: A Republic Commando Novel offers a possibly explanation. In that Palpatine secretly creates a new clone army on Centax 2, which are inferior to Kamino-bred clones, but can be grown more quickly. The Kamino clones only needed to be of such high quality because Palpatine wanted them to be able to kill the Jedi when he executed Order 66. The Empire presumably followed this and had vast numbers of inferior troops. Their "superior traing" can possibly be attributed to Imperial propaganda, rather than anything that actually happened --Jinzler 15:51, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Thats a good coverup it also would explain Obi-wan saying stormtroopers are very accurate,He was thinking back to the Fett Clones.Sith-venator 02:44, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- The same films display various troopers with various success-rates. The 501st taking the Tantive IV do a good job, the troopers on the DS and Cloud City were ordered to let the Rebels escape. We see little of the 501st following Vader into Echo Base, but they do an effective job reaching the Falcon quickly, being downed by its point-defense gun. The troopers on Endor might have been Palpatine's shock troops, decended from the ones on Coruscant in the CW. Whether they have a poor performance record or the Ewoks are stronger, isn't known. We do see at least one Ewok hit a trooper hard enough to send him flying backwards. (In the scene where Han and Leia are pinned down in front of the bunker.) VT-16 13:48, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Palpatine could have just been arogent ( I certainly wouldn't put that above him). Technilly the Stormtrooper corps were the best troops he had, so he may have meant his best type of troops. Maybe they were rookies?-Impspy
[edit] Trask?
He's a notable storm trooper am I right? since he is our peek into the world of the "modern" storm trooper in legacy and killed a sith lord single handed which is a boost no other stormtrooper can make
- Yes definaly should be a notable stormie I mean how many Stormies do you know that killed a sith.Sith-venator 02:48, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Needs variety
This article needs to talk about the different stormtroopers. Not the the varients, but the commander, the incinerator, just all of them in general.
[edit] Just Why?
- who put Boba Fett as a Stormtrooper and if no one has any objections, i'm gonna take him off the list. WILDEYE N-25 22:54, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- Don't removed sourced information. There was a source right there that indicated where Fett was mentioned as a former stormtrooper. Cull Tremayne 06:19, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- which source? WILDEYE N-25 05:39, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- You click on that number next to his name, and it will highlight reference 8, Dark Empire. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 05:44, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, but Dark Empire's authors also thought Fett could be destroyed by some antique, and that he had a mom. I still think Dark Empire needs to be removed from Continuity.—B-Boba Fett! He'll kill us all!

[edit] Commandos
- hey, should we put in that the commandos that survided the Clone Wars became Stormtroopers too. WILDEYE N-25 05:38, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Where did you get that info from? SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 05:43, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Order 66 by Karen Traviss. at the end it says that the remaining Deltas and Omegas were in the Imperial army. it also said that Daran had a new helmet that was really different and you have to assume that he means a Stormtrooper hlmet. WILDEYE N-25 18:16, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Where exactly do they appear in episode 3
- Can someone tell me where exactly do Stormtroopers appear in episode 3 as opposed to phase 2 armor troopers? In appearances it says they are in Episode 3 and Episode 3 the game. Not sure about the game but i dont recall seeing any in episode 3 itself.
- As soon as the Republic becomes the Empire, the clonetroopers become stormtroopers. It was in the full version of Palpatine's speech. So, we see stormtroopers, even if they're wearing GAR armor. -LtNOWIS 23:43, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
- Ah gotcha. Makes more sense now. Thanks a lot.

[edit] Recruitment Poster
I say it shouldn't be there as it's not really a recruitment poster, but fanart, although as I'm not a regular editter of the wookiepedia, I don't feel as though I should have much power of this, so I guess I'm leaving it up to you guys --Necrosis103 22:58, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Clones or just military personell?
are the stromtroopers the same as clone troopers only with a new suit or is the stormtroopers a new force with recruited people? —Unsigned comment by 80.213.106.224 (talk • contribs).
- Both, as the article would tell you. Grand Moff Tranner
