Talk:Super Star Destroyer (8km)
From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.
It is possible that the Super-class wasn't a false ship after all, and that this 8km Super Star Destroyer is in fact the Super-class? I'm in the process of reading Invincible, and the Super Star Destroyer Megador is specifically called a Super-class Star Destroyer on page 212. Therefore, should this article be merged with the Super-class article? Grand Moff Tranner

- Maybe so. I think it's part of the Super-class also. I agree, and it does say that the Megador is a Super-class. But, is the Megador 8km long? -Colonel Solo

- Everything in the Super Star Destroyer range, is technically a Super-class Star Destroyer, as this was the name used to portray the Executor-class Star Dreadnought as being smaller and less dangerous than it was actually designed to be. The names spread in Imperial and Rebel colloquial use, as per Inside the Worlds of the Star Wars Trilogy, Starship Battles Preview 1 and Starships of the Galaxy 2007, and were not official class designations. Anything called either term, is definitely bigger and stronger than a given Star Destroyer class, but other than that, we don't know anything about them. I'm hoping the Megador or the Dominion is a very different SSD from the Executor-class, but apart from more hangars and sixteen engines on the Megador, we really don't know anything. Any new info from Invincible would be appreciated, about the ship's design, its history in the book etc. VT-16 15:44, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- Why are you so quick to just throw out the Super-class as being an actual class when books specifically say that the class exists? Grand Moff Tranner

- The Super-class Star Destroyer does not exist in the SW universe. Neither the 12.8km vessels mentioned in the original Starships of the Galaxy, nor the 12-16km warships mentioned in Death Star, nor the 8km ships being compared to other vessels in the New Jedi Order/Dark Nest Trilogy are designated Super-class Star Destroyers. That is merely a colloquial term first used for the Executor-class Star Dreadnaught that gained popularity. Do you know what the word "colloquialism" even means? VT-16 23:01, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- That's irrelevant. Show me a source that specifically says that "Super-class Star Destroyer" is a term applied to all Super Star Destroyers. If you cannot, then that means the Super-class does indeed exist, making this article useless. Grand Moff Tranner
